[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 별천지 하동쌀이 해외 시장 진출의 새로운 전기를 마련했다.
지난 5일 하동군은 희창물산과 함께 하동쌀 수출을 위한 협약을 맺었다.
군은 이번 협약을 계기로 ‘별천지 하동쌀’을 대한민국 대표 프리미엄 쌀 브랜드로 육성하고, 안정적인 해외 판로를 확보해 농가 소득 증대와 지역경제 활성화를 동시에 달성한다는 방침이다.
희창물산㈜은 2023년 3월 21일 첫 수출 협약 체결 이후 하동군과 긴밀한 협력 관계를 이어오고 있다.
당시 5개 업체에서 출발한 수출 참여 기업은 2026년 현재 15개 업체로 확대되는 성과를 거두었다.
군은 이를 기반으로 2027년까지 희창물산㈜을 통한 수출 목표를 30억 원 규모로 설정하고, 해외 유통망 확충과 브랜드 경쟁력 강화에 집중할 예정이다.
하동군은 최근 농특산물 수출 다변화 전략을 통해 쌀, 가공식품 등 다양한 품목의 해외 진출을 확대하고 있다.
해외 바이어 발굴, 현지 홍보 마케팅 강화, 수출 인프라 지원 등을 통해 농특산물 세계화를 적극 추진할 계획이다.
군 관계자는 “이번 협약은 ‘별천지 하동쌀’의 브랜드 가치와 국제 신뢰도를 높이는 계기가 될 것”이라며, “지속적인 품질관리와 안정적 물량 공급으로 세계 시장에서 경쟁력을 확보해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
