이재명 대통령이 9일 “불법에 대해선 예외 없이 엄중한 제재가 따를 것”이라며 “불법 부당이익은 그 이상을 반환하게 될 것”이라고 강조했다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 엑스(X·구 트위터)에 공정거래위원회가 과징금 부과 기준율을 늘리기로 했다는 기사를 공유하며 담합 등 시장 불공정 행위 관련해 이같이 적었다.
그러면서 “기업 경영은 정상적으로 해야 한다”며 “국민에 피해 입히고 경제 질서를 교란시키는 담합 같은 불법행위를 하지 않으면 아무 일도 일어나지 않는다”고 덧붙였다.
공정위는 향후 담합 적발 시 과징금으로 관련 매출액 10% 이상을 부과하기로 한 동시에 특수관계인에 대한 부당한 이익 제공(사익편취) 제재 역시 강화된다.
지금까지는 과징금 액수가 매출액 0.5%부터 시작했으나 부과 하한선이 20배로 높아지며 부당지원 금액 대비 과징금 최대 부과율도 160%에서 300%로 상향된다.
