창원시는 지난해 6월부터 장애인 활동지원서비스 운영 전반에 대한 집중 점검에 착수했다. 이번 조사는 '장애인이 마땅히 누려야 할 지원 시간이 현장에서 제대로 지켜지고 있는가'라는 본질적인 질문에서 시작됐다.

최영숙 복지여성보건국장은 “부정수급은 결국 장애인이 받아야 할 지원 시간을 빼앗아 일상과 안전을 위협할 수 있는 사안”이라며, 단순한 부정 적발이 아닌 장애인이 받아야 할 서비스를 정확히 보장하기 위해 운영 질서를 확립하겠다”고 밝혔다.
