따뜻한 봄기운이 완연해진 지난 10일, 고양특례시 대덕동 일대가 주민들의 열정으로 한층 깨끗하게 단장됐다.
대덕동 행정복지센터는 이날 통장협의회 회원들과 동 직원들이 함께 마을의 상징인 향동천과 마을 안길 일대에서 대대적인 환경정화 활동을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 활동은 덕양구청이 추진하는 '더꾸네 쓰담쓰담 환경정화사업'의 일환으로 마련됐으며, 대덕동 통장협의회와 동 직원 등 총 30여 명이 한자리에 모여 마을 사랑을 실천했다.

이번 청소의 주 대상지인 향동천은 주민들이 산책과 여가활동을 즐기기 위해 즐겨 찾는 공간으로, 서울시와 경계에 위치한 대덕동의 얼굴과 같은 곳이다.
참여자들은 향동천 산책로를 비롯해 마을 구석구석의 안길과 배수로 주변에 겨우내 방치되어 있던 쓰레기와 퇴적물을 직접 수거하며 구슬땀을 흘렸다.
이번 활동이 더욱 주목받는 이유는 단순한 일회성 행사에 그치지 않는다는 점이다.
참여자들은 올 연말까지 매월 정기적으로 모여 환경정화 활동을 이어가기로 뜻을 모았다.
