이번 일손돕기는 봄철 농번기를 앞두고 추진 중인 ‘2026년 상반기 농촌인력 지원 종합대책 추진계획’의 일환으로 마련됐다.
군은 고령농, 독거농, 장애농가 등 농촌인력 확보에 어려움을 겪는 취약계층을 대상으로 지원계획을 세웠으며, 그중에서도 화학사고 피해농가 가운데 복구가 완료되지 않아 시급한 도움이 필요한 농가를 우선 지원 대상으로 선정했다.
이에 따라, 11일 조병옥 음성군수를 비롯해 음성군 농림축산국 및 농협중앙회 음성군지부 직원 등 30여 명은 대소면 삼정리 일원의 화학사고 피해 농가 2곳을 찾아 농촌일손돕기를 실시했다.

먼저 도시의 유휴 인력을 모집해 농가와 연결하는 충북형 도시농부사업 홍보를 강화해 사업 참여를 높이고, 필요한 농가가 적기에 인력을 지원받을 수 있도록 운영을 활성화할 계획이다.
또한 계절적으로 단기간에 집중되는 농촌인력 수요에 대응하기 위해 외국인 계절근로자 도입도 적극 추진한다. 고용주가 신청한 시기에 맞춰 근로자가 입국할 수 있도록 지원함으로써 농가의 영농 일정에 차질이 없도록 할 방침이다.
이 밖에도 일손이음 지원사업, 농작업 대행서비스 지원사업, 고령 영세농 농작업 대행비용 지원사업, 농기계 임대사업 등을 함께 추진해 농촌 현장의 인력 부족 문제를 다각도로 해소해 나갈 예정이다.
군 관계자는 “이번 농촌일손돕기가 공공기관과 사회단체, 나아가 군민이 함께 참여하는 범군민 운동으로 확산되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 농촌인력 취약계층 농가가 필요한 시기에 인력을 확보해 영농에 차질이 없도록 실질적인 지원 정책을 적극 추진하겠다”고 말했다.
