세종특별자치시가 신규 공장 설립을 준비하는 기업들의 행정적 고충을 덜고 투자 유치 경쟁력을 높이기 위해 전담 창구를 마련했다.
세종시는 여러 부서에 흩어져 있던 공장 관련 업무를 하나로 통합한 ‘공장설립지원팀’을 신설하고 본격적인 운영에 들어갔다고 11일 밝혔다.
그동안 세종시 내에서 공장을 설립하려는 기업들은 공장 등록 업무를 위해 산업입지과를 찾고, 건축 인허가 절차를 위해서는 조치원읍이나 시청 건축과를 별도로 방문해야 하는 번거로움을 겪어왔다.
업무가 부서별로 분산되면서 처리 기간이 길어지고 행정 효율성이 떨어진다는 지적이 꾸준히 제기되어 왔다.
이에 시는 기업들의 행정 불편을 근본적으로 해결하고 전문적인 서비스를 제공하고자 산업입지과 내에 4명의 전문가로 구성된 전담팀을 꾸렸다.
공장설립지원팀은 앞으로 인허가 과정에서 발생하는 부서 간 협의와 보완 절차를 직접 조율해 처리 기간을 대폭 단축하는 역할을 맡는다.
특히 기업 민원 상담부터 최종 해결까지 한 번에 처리하는 '원스톱 서비스'를 구축해 기업 편의를 극대화할 방침이다.
세종시는 이번 전담팀 신설이 단순히 행정 절차를 간소화하는 것을 넘어, 기업하기 좋은 환경을 조성함으로써 유망 기업들의 세종시 유입을 촉진하는 긍정적인 촉매제가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
류제일 세종시 경제산업국장은 “공장설립지원팀은 기업들이 현장에서 직접적으로 체감할 수 있는 행정 혁신을 위해 마련된 조치”라며 “인허가 창구 일원화를 통해 기업들이 세종시에 신속하게 정착하고 성장에 집중할 수 있도록 적극적인 지원 행정을 펼치겠다”고 강조했다.
