[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 기존 제조업 중심 산업구조에서 고부가가치 기술 기반의 첨단 산업도시로 도약하는 중요한 전환점이 될 '전력반도체 솔루션센터'가 지난 2월 준공 후 본격 운영 준비에 들어갔다.
김해시 진례면 테크노밸리일반산업단지 내 준공된 '전력반도체 솔루션센터'는 동남권 첨단산업 생태계의 경쟁력을 높이는 한편 김해시가 미래 산업 지도를 이끌 권역별 거점도시로 자리매김하는 데 핵심적인 역할을 할 전망이다.
센터는 건축 연면적 1940㎡에 지상 2층 규모로 전기전문 연구기관인 한국전기연구원이 운영을 맡아 전력반도체의 소재부터 소자, 모듈에 이르는 전주기 실증 지원이 이뤄진다.
센터는 향후 장비 구축과 시스템 점검을 마친 뒤 시범 운영을 거쳐 정식 개소하게 되며, 이를 통해 해외 의존도가 높았던 핵심 부품의 국산화와 기술 자립화를 체계적으로 뒷받침하고 지역 기업의 기술 경쟁력 강화와 사업화 기간 단축에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
김해시는 솔루션센터를 중심으로 진례 물류 로봇 반도체 클러스터 내 스마트센싱 유닛 실증센터 한국로봇리퍼브센터 물류로봇 실증지원센터와의 유기적 협력을 추진한다.
이를 통해 기술 실증부터 상용화 테스트베드까지 이어지는 맞춤형 원스톱 지원체계를 구축하고 산업간 시너지와 기술 집적 효과를 극대화해 기업 성장의 선순환 구조를 마련할 방침이다.
전력반도체는 전기차, 로봇, 우주항공 등 미래 신산업의 에너지 효율과 성능을 좌우하는 핵심 부품으로 글로벌 시장 확대와 국가 전략기술로서의 중요성이 날로 커지고 있다.
김해시는 이번 센터 준공을 계기로 지역 전통 제조산업을 지식 기반의 첨단 산업구조로 재편하고 지역경제의 질적 성장과 지속 가능한 산업생태계 구축을 동시에 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
김해시 관계자는 "전력반도체 솔루션센터는 김해시가 첨단산업의 혁신 거점으로 도약하는 핵심 동력이 될 것"이라며 "지역 기업들이 초격차 기술력을 확보해 세계 시장을 선도할 수 있도록 행정적 재정적 지원을 적극적으로 이어가겠다"고 밝혔다.

The "Power Semiconductor Solution Center," located within the Techno Valley General Industrial Complex in Jinrye-myeon, Gimhae City, is expected to play a key role in enhancing the competitiveness of the southeastern region's high-tech industry ecosystem and establishing Gimhae as a regional hub city leading the future industrial landscape.
The center, a two-story building with a total floor area of 1,940 square meters, will be operated by the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI), a specialized electrical research institute. It will provide full-cycle demonstration support for power semiconductors, encompassing materials, components, and modules.
The center will officially open after completing equipment installation and system inspections and conducting a pilot operation.
