한국유나이티드제약이 몽골 현지 파트너사와 전략회의를 열고 몽골 의약품 시장 공략을 강화한다.
한국유나이티드제약은 지난 9일 몽골 파트너사 간엠파마(GanEm Pharma)를 한국으로 초청해 수출 확대를 위한 전략회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다. 회의에는 강덕영 한국유나이티드제약 사장과 초고트 아마르델게르 간엠파마 사장 등 양사 주요 임원이 참석해 주요 제품의 몽골 시장 확대 전략과 중장기 협력 방안을 논의했다.
이번 회의에서는 종합감기약 알카펜 시리즈, 골다공증 치료제 본덱스주, 소염진통제 클란자에스연질캡슐 등 주요 품목의 현지 판매 확대 방안이 중점적으로 다뤄졌다. 특히 알카펜 시리즈는 올해 제제 개선을 통해 몽골 현지에 신제품 출시를 앞두고 있어 시장 경쟁력 강화가 기대된다.
한국유나이티드제약은 항암제 포트폴리오 확대에도 나선다. 기존에 몽골 보건부에 공급 중인 유니스틴주, 카보티놀주 등 항암제 5개 품목에 더해 항암제 푸리네톤정의 몽골 신규 수출을 추진할 계획이다.
몽골은 인구 약 352만 명 규모의 시장으로 의약품 수요의 상당 부분을 수입에 의존하고 있다. 시장 규모는 약 1억9,760만 달러 수준이며 한국산 의약품에 대한 수요도 빠르게 늘고 있다. 실제로 2022년 몽골의 한국 의약품 수입액은 1,697만 달러로 전년보다 48.6% 증가했다.
한국유나이티드제약은 2003년부터 몽골에 의약품을 수출해 왔으며 현지에서 꾸준히 인지도를 높여왔다.
강덕영 사장은 “몽골은 한국 의약품에 대한 신뢰와 수요가 지속적으로 확대되는 중요한 시장”이라며 “오랜 현지 사업 경험과 파트너십을 바탕으로 경쟁력 있는 품목 공급을 확대해 시장 공략을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
Korea United Pharm is accelerating its expansion in the Mongolian pharmaceutical market through a strategic meeting with its local partner
The company announced that it held a strategic meeting on September 9 with its Mongolian partner GanEm Pharma to discuss ways to expand exports. Key executives from both companies attended the meeting, including Kang Deok-young, President of Korea United Pharm, and Tsogtoo Amardelger, President of GanEm Pharma. They discussed strategies to expand the presence of major products in Mongolia and strengthen long-term cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides focused on expanding sales of key products, including the cold medicine Alkafen series, the osteoporosis treatment Bondex injection, and the anti-inflammatory analgesic Clanza-S soft capsule. In particular, the Alkafen series is expected to strengthen its competitiveness in the local market as a newly improved formulation is scheduled to be launched in Mongolia this year.
Korea United Pharm also plans to expand its oncology portfolio in Mongolia. In addition to the five oncology products already supplied to the Mongolian Ministry of Health, including Unistin injection and Cabotinol injection, the company is preparing to export the anticancer drug Purinethone tablets to Mongolia.
Mongolia, with a population of about 3.52 million, relies heavily on imports to meet its pharmaceutical demand. The country’s pharmaceutical market is estimated at about $197.6 million, and demand for Korean medicines has been rising rapidly. In 2022, Mongolia’s imports of Korean pharmaceuticals reached $16.97 million, a 48.6% increase compared with the previous year.
Korea United Pharm has been exporting medicines to Mongolia since 2003 and has steadily built brand recognition in the local market.
“Mongolia is an important market where trust in and demand for Korean pharmaceuticals continue to grow,” said Kang Deok-young, President of Korea United Pharm. “Based on our long-standing business experience and partnerships in the region, we plan to further accelerate our expansion by supplying competitive products.”
