기획행정위원회는 지난 13일 대구달성소방서와 현풍119안전센터를 찾아 산불 대응 체계를 살피고 현장에서 근무하는 소방대원들을 격려했다.
이번 방문은 봄철을 맞아 산불 위험이 높아지는 상황에서, 현장 방재 대책을 직접 확인하고 소방공무원들의 애로사항을 청취하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 위원들은 달성소방서에서 소방 행정과 화재 예방 대책에 대한 설명을 들었다. 이어 헬기와 특수 장비 등 초동 진압 자원의 운영 현황을 꼼꼼히 살피며, 산불 대형화를 막기 위한 사전 준비와 장비·인력 확보의 중요성을 강조했다.
현풍119안전센터에서는 설 연휴 기간 현풍읍 일대 산불을 신속하게 진화한 대원들을 직접 만나 격려했다. 위원들은 인명 피해 없이 산불을 막아낸 빠른 대응에 감사를 전하며, 이날 사례를 향후 산불 대비 정책에 적극 반영하겠다고 밝혔다.
또한 산불 취약 지역에 대한 순찰 강화와 유관기관 간 공조 체계 점검, 헬기·진화장비 정비 상황, 대원들의 근무 환경 안전 등 종합적인 현장 점검도 이뤄졌다.
류종우 부위원장은 “달성 지역은 지형상 산불이 커질 위험이 높다”며 “의회에서도 소방 인프라 확충과 대원 처우 개선에 적극 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
위원회는 이날 접수된 현장 건의 사항을 바탕으로 소방 장비 현대화, 근무 환경 개선 등 예산 지원 방안을 모색할 계획이다.
