몰타 엠디나 라이온스 클럽은 여성 중심의 클럽이다.
같은 라이온스 멤버이기에 초대가 오면 거절하기 어렵고,
이번에는 두 명의 지인과 함께 리셉션에 참석했다.
런치 비용이 75유로로 적지 않았지만,
같은 클럽 소속이라는 점에서 쉽게 사양할 수 없는 자리였다.
이번 참석은 단순한 식사 이상의 의미가 있었다.
우리가 새로 클럽을 구상하고 있는 상황에서,
다른 클럽의 운영 방식과 분위기를 직접 경험할 수 있는 기회였기 때문이다.
비가 내리는 날이었지만 음식과 서비스는 만족스러웠고,
무엇보다 장소가 인상적이었다. 예전 몰타 부자의 저택이었던
Villa Arigo 나사르는 넓은 정원을 갖춘 파티 장소로,
결혼식 등 다양한 행사로도 많이 활용된다.
다만, 개인적으로 춤추는 분위기는 그다지 마음에 들지 않았다.
그럼에도 불구하고, 이런 모임을 마치고 나면 항상 같은 질문이 떠오른다.
과연 이런 자리에서 얻는 진짜 가치는 무엇일까.
화려한 음식과 세련된 서비스, 눈길을 사로잡는 공간만으로는 충분하지 않다.
결국 남는 것은 사람과 사람 사이에서 나누는 경험,
그 속에서 깨닫게 되는 작은 통찰들일 것이다.
그리고 바로 그 경험이야말로,
이런 만남을 의미 있게 만드는 진정한 이유일 것이다.
The Mdina Lions Club in Malta is women-focused.
Since I am a member of the Lions, it’s hard to decline an invitation,
So this time I attended the reception with two acquaintances.
The lunch cost 75 euros, which is not cheap,
but it is difficult to refuse when the invitation comes from fellow members.
This visit was more than just a meal.
As we are planning to start a new club,
it was a valuable opportunity to observe how another club operates and experience
its atmosphere firsthand. Despite the rainy day,
The food and service were satisfying, and the venue was impressive.
Villa Arigo in Naxxar, once the residence of a wealthy Maltese family,
has a spacious garden and is frequently used for weddings and other events.
That said, personally, I did not enjoy the dancing atmosphere.
Even so, attending such gatherings always brings the same question to mind:
What is the true value of these events? Lavish food, refined service,
And beautiful spaces are not enough.
Ultimately, what remains are the experiences shared between people
and the small insights gained in the process.
And it is precisely these experiences that give meaning to such meetings.

ライオンズのメンバーである私は、招待を断るのが難しく、
今回は二人の知人と一緒にレセプションに参加した。
ランチの費用は75ユーロと決して安くないが、
同じクラブのメンバーからの招待だと簡単に断れない。
今回の参加は、単なる食事以上の意味があった。
私たちが新しいクラブの立ち上げを考えている中で、
他のクラブの運営方法や雰囲気を直接体験できる貴重な機会だった。
雨が降る日だったが、料理やサービスは満足できるもので、
会場も印象的だった。
ヴィラ・アリゴ（ナッサール）はかつてマルタの富豪の邸宅で、
広い庭園を持ち、
結婚式などさまざまなイベントに使われている。
ただ、個人的にはダンスの雰囲気はあまり好ましく感じなかった。
それでも、こうした集まりに参加するといつも同じ疑問が浮かぶ。
本当にこのような場から得られる価値とは何だろうか。
豪華な料理や洗練されたサービス、美しい空間だけでは十分ではない。
結局残るのは、人と人との間で交わされる経験や、
その中で得られる小さな気づきである。
そしてまさにその経験こそが、こうした出会いを意味あるものにしているのだ。
