권 예비후보는 16일 ‘상쾌한 가을바람 프로젝트’를 핵심 환경 공약으로 제시하고, 서구의 생활환경을 전면 개선하겠다고 밝혔다.
그는 “대구염색산업단지와 환경기초시설 등에서 오랜 기간 발생한 악취로 주민들이 큰 불편을 겪고 있다”며 “이 문제를 근본적으로 해결하겠다”고 강조했다.
이어 음식물폐기물 처리장 폐쇄 추진, 하수처리장 통합 지하화, 우·오수 분류망 완성과 같은 구조적인 대책을 단계적으로 추진하겠다는 계획도 내놨다. 또 첨단 환경기술 도입과 실시간 악취 모니터링 시스템 구축 등으로 악취 관리 체계를 한층 강화하겠다는 방침이다.
권 예비후보는 또 국비 확보와 제도 개선을 위해 김상훈 국회의원과 협력, 중앙정부와 국회 차원의 지원도 이끌어내겠다고 밝혔다.
그는 “악취는 주민들이 그저 참고 살아야 할 문제가 아니라 반드시 해결해야 할 생활환경 문제”라며 “행정 경험을 바탕으로 실질적으로 체감할 수 있는 환경 개선을 이루겠다”고 말했다.
