대전광역시교육청이 학교 현장의 예술 교육을 내실화하고 지역사회와 연계한 문화예술 체험 기회를 넓히기 위해 ‘2026학년도 예술드림거점학교’ 11개교를 최종 선정했다.
예술드림거점학교는 단위 학교의 예술 교육을 강화하는 것을 넘어, 인근 학교와 지역 주민들에게까지 예술 교육의 혜택이 돌아가도록 지원하는 중심축 역할을 한다.
지역의 우수한 문화예술 자원을 발굴해 학생들의 적성에 맞는 창의적인 프로그램을 운영하고, 그 교육 성과를 주변과 공유하는 것이 사업의 핵심이다.
대전시교육청은 지난 2016년부터 이 사업을 추진해 지난해까지 총 73개교를 지원하며 저변을 넓혀왔다. 올해는 지난 2월 공모를 거쳐 초등학교 4곳, 중학교 4곳, 고등학교 3곳을 선정했다. 특히 학교 현장의 높은 관심과 수요를 반영해 당초 계획했던 8개교에서 11개교로 선정 규모를 확대했다.
이번에 선정된 거점학교들은 특정 분야에 치우치지 않고 다채로운 예술 영역을 다룬다. 세부적으로는 음악 분야 6개교(양악 4, 국악 1, 합창 1) ,미술 분야 2개교 ,연극 분야 1개교 ,융합 예술 분야 2개교 등이다.
시 교육청은 선정된 학교에 운영 영역별로 250만 원에서 350만 원의 예산을 차등 지원한다. 지원금은 예술 활동 중심의 수업 모델 개발, 학생 참여형 프로그램 기획, 지역사회와 함께하는 예술 프로젝트 운영 등에 활용될 예정이다.
