[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산의 한 아파트 복도에서 현직 항공사 기장을 살해하고 달아난 50대 전직 부기장이 범행 하루 만에 경찰에 붙잡혔다.
부산경찰청 수사전담반은 17일 오후 8시 3분경 울산 남구의 한 모텔에 은신 중이던 피의자 B씨를 검거했다고 밝혔다. B씨는 피해자 A씨가 근무하는 항공사에서 부기장으로 일하다 2년 전 퇴사한 것으로 확인됐다.
경찰에 따르면 B씨는 지난 17일 오전 7시경 부산진구 전포동의 한 아파트 복도에서 50대 기장 A씨를 흉기로 찔러 살해한 혐의를 받고 있다. 당시 아침 운동을 위해 집을 나서던 A씨는 복도 계단에서 기다리던 B씨에게 기습을 당했으며, 병원으로 옮겨졌으나 끝내 숨졌다.
수사 결과 B씨의 범행은 이번이 처음이 아니었다. B씨는 부산 범행 하루 전인 16일에도 경기도 고양시에서 또 다른 전 동료 기장을 살해하려다 미수에 그친 것으로 드러났다. 경찰은 B씨가 과거 직장 내 갈등과 퇴직 과정에서의 불만 등으로 전·현직 동료들에게 앙심을 품고 연쇄 범행을 계획한 것으로 보고 있다.
경찰은 사건 발생 후 60여 명 규모의 전담반을 구성해 추적에 나섰다. B씨는 이동 과정에서 휴대전화를 끄고 대중교통을 여러 번 갈아타며 수사망을 피했으나, 이날 오후 3시 30분경 울산으로 이동한 동선이 포착되면서 덜미가 잡혔다.
경찰은 현재 B씨를 부산으로 압송, 이날 밤 10시 30분경 부산진경찰서에 도착하는 대로 정확한 범행 동기와 추가 범행 계획 등을 집중 조사할 방침이다.

A 50-year-old former airline first officer has been apprehended in connection with the fatal stabbing of a senior captain, bringing a cross-city manhunt to an end.
The Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced that the suspect, identified as B, was taken into custody at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday. He was discovered hiding in a motel in Ulsan, approximately four hours after authorities tracked his movement to the city.
The incident occurred Monday around 7 a.m. in the hallway of an apartment complex in Busan’s Jin District. The victim, a 50-year-old captain for a domestic carrier, was found by a neighbor with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
According to investigators, B was a former first officer who had worked at the same airline as the victim before leaving the company roughly two years ago. Early findings suggest the attack was motivated by long-standing grievances B held against his former colleagues.
The Busan police, who formed a 60-member task force for the case, are currently transporting the suspect back to the Busanjin Police Station. He is expected to arrive at 10:30 p.m. for intensive questioning regarding his premeditated plans and specific motives.
Police stated they will provide further details on the suspect’s movements and the full scope of the crime following a preliminary investigation.
