[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국민의힘 이성권 국회의원이 민주당을 향해 “전재수 의원을 꼭 부산시장 후보로 내세워야 한다”며 현 여권의 사법체계 왜곡을 강하게 비판했다.
이 의원은 최근 자신의 SNS에 올린 글에서 “공직이 죄의 방패막이가 되는 작금의 모습이 진정 우리가 바라는 대한민국의 모습이냐”라며 “권력이 스스로 죄를 없애고, 공직이 죄를 덮는 데 이용되는 일이 일상처럼 벌어지고 있다”고 지적했다.
그는 “이재명 정권은 국가 사법 체계를 송두리째 바꿔 대통령이 지은 죄를 무죄로 만들고 있다”며 “민주당이 만들어낸 ‘사법 파괴 3법’은 결국 권력을 위한 방패가 되고 있다”고 주장했다.
전재수 의원의 부산시장 출마와 관련해서도 날 선 비판을 이어갔다. 이 의원은 “통일교 금품 수수 의혹을 받는 전 의원이 법적 판단이 끝나지 않은 상황에서도 선거에 나섰다”며 “평범한 국민이라면 자숙과 반성을 택할 상황에 오히려 출판기념회로 지갑을 채우고 있다”고 꼬집었다.
그는 또 “이 대통령과 정청래 대표가 그런 전 의원을 띄우고 응원하고 있다”며 “국가를, 국민을 얼마나 우습게 보면 이런 행동을 하겠느냐. 권력의 오만은 반드시 심판받아야 한다”고 말했다.
이 의원은 “부산은 나라가 위기 때마다 국가를 지켜낸 저력을 가진 도시”라며 “부산 시민이 전재수 의원에게 공직의 무게와 책임을 분명히 보여줄 것이라고 믿는다. 민주당이 전 의원을 후보로 내세우는 이유는 결국 국민의 판단을 받게 하기 위함”이라고 강조했다.

People Power Party lawmaker Lee Sung-kwon sharply criticized the Democratic Party of Korea (DPK), accusing it of distorting the judicial system and pushing Rep. Jeon Jae-soo as a potential Busan mayoral candidate.
In a recent social media post, Lee wrote, “Is this the country we truly want—where public office serves as a shield against wrongdoing?” He added, “We’re witnessing power absolving itself of guilt, and public positions being used to cover up crimes as if it’s normal.”
Lee went on to argue that “the Lee Jae-myung administration is completely overturning the nation’s judicial system to acquit the president of his crimes,” claiming that the Democratic Party’s so-called “three judicial destruction laws” have become “a shield for those in power.”
He also took aim at Rep. Jeon Jae-soo’s possible run for Busan mayor, saying, “Despite allegations of receiving illicit funds from the Unification Church and before any legal judgment has been made, Rep. Jeon is already campaigning. Any ordinary citizen would choose reflection and restraint in such a situation, yet he’s instead hosting book-launching events to fill his pockets.”
Lee further criticized President Lee and DPK leader Jeong Cheong-rae for openly supporting Jeon, remarking, “How little must they think of the country and its people to act this way? The arrogance of power will, without doubt, be judged.”
Concluding his statement, Lee said, “Busan has always shown its strength and patriotism in times of national crisis. I trust that the citizens of Busan will remind Rep. Jeon of the true weight and responsibility of public office. By nominating him, the Democratic Party is ultimately leaving the decision to the people.”
