(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 18일, 도성훈 교육감과 김영호 교육위원장을 비롯해 양측 관계자들이 참석한 가운데, 국회 교육위원회와 ‘독서국가 독서인천’ 추진을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
인천시교육청에 따르면, 국회 교육위원장실에서 열린 이번 협약식은 인공지능(AI) 시대에 필수적인 창의·비판적 사고 역량을 함양하고, 학교와 가정, 마을을 잇는 시민 독서문화 생태계를 확산하기 위한 협력체계를 구축하고자 마련했다.
양 기관은 이번 협약에 따라 인천시교육청의 독서 정책을 생애주기별 독서교육 모델로 확산하고, 국회 차원의 입법·제도적 지원과 교육청의 현장 실행력을 연계해 ‘독서국가 교육 대전환 프로젝트’의 실행 기반을 함께 다져나가기로 했다.
주요 협약 내용은 독서 골든타임(5~9세) 조기 독서체계 확립, 책 읽는 학교 정착을 통한 학생 독서습관 형성, 가정독서혁명 확산 및 가족 단위 독서문화 조성, 1마을 1권 읽기 등 지역 공동체 기반 독서문화 활성화, 독서국가 생태계 기반 구축 및 제도적 확산 등이다.
인천시교육청은 이번 협약을 통해 인천의 ‘읽걷쓰’가 국회의 ‘독서국가’ 비전과 결합함으로써, 학교를 넘어 지역사회 전반으로 독서문화가 확장되는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다
