<브레이크뉴스 원주 = 김일웅 기자> 원주시가 봄철 해빙기를 맞아 지반 약화로 인한 대형 안전사고를 미연에 방지하기 위해 취약시설 집중 안전점검에 두 팔을 걷어붙였다.
19일 원주시에 따르면, 이번 대대적인 점검은 기온 상승으로 얼어있던 지표면이 녹으면서 발생할 수 있는 옹벽, 축대 등의 낙석 및 붕괴 위험 요소를 사전에 완벽히 차단하고, 시민의 소중한 생명과 재산을 든든하게 보호하기 위해 전격 마련됐다.

특히, 이번 점검은 시 지휘부가 직접 현장을 진두지휘하며 실효성을 극대화하고 있어 눈길을 끈다. 지난 12일 원강수 원주시장이 급경사지 등 위험 우려 지역을 직접 방문해 강도 높은 점검을 실시한 데 이어, 18일에는 김문기 부시장이 바통을 이어받아 현장 점검을 꼼꼼하게 진행했다.
