【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 20일 오전, 안전한 등하굣길 교통문화 조성을 위해 봉명초등학교 정문에서 봉명초 학생자치회와 함께 <학생 주도 교통안전 캠페인>을 실시했다.
이번 캠페인은 등하굣길 어린이 교통사고 예방과 보행 안전 의식 확산을 위해 마련됐으며, 충북교육청과 청주교육지원청, 봉명초등학교가 함께 참여해 학생자치회 주도로 진행됐다.
‘어린이 보행 안전! 멈추고, 살피고, 건너요!’라는 슬로건 아래 진행된 이번 활동에서 봉명초 학생자치회 학생들은 등교 시간대에 맞춰 학교 정문 보행로에서 교통안전 캠페인을 펼쳤다. 학생들은 리플릿 배부와 피켓 홍보 활동을 통해 또래 학생들에게 보행 안전의 중요성을 알리고 안전수칙 실천을 독려했다.
특히 ▲횡단보도 앞 일단 멈춤 ▲좌우 살피기 ▲안전하게 건너기 ▲휴대전화를 보며 걷지 않기 등 어린이 보행 안전 수칙을 안내하며 안전한 등하굣길 문화 조성에 앞장섰다.
윤건영 교육감은 “학생들이 스스로 안전을 지키기 위해 캠페인을 이끄는 모습이 매우 대견하다.”라며 “아이들이 외친 ‘멈추고, 살피고, 건너요’라는 실천이 어른들의 안전운전과 배려로 이어져 지역사회가 함께 만드는 안전한 등하굣길 문화로 정착되기를 기대한다.”라고 말했다.
