대전시 청소년참여위원회 출범, "청소년 정책참여 본격화"

대전시가 청소년의 정책 참여를 제도적으로 넓히기 위한 첫걸음을 내디뎠다. 대전시는 21일 오전 대전청소년위캔센터에서 ‘대전광역시 청소년참여위원회’ 위촉식을 열고, 공개모집과 심사를 거쳐 선발한 청소년 14명에게 위촉장을 수여했다.

청소년참여위원회는 청소년이 정책 형성 과정에 직접 의견을 내고 권익 증진에 참여할 수 있도록 마련된 기구다. 운영 근거는 청소년기본법 제5조의2와 대전광역시 청소년참여위원회 구성 및 운영 조례에 두고 있으며, 위원 임기는 1년이다. 청소년을 정책의 수혜 대상으로만 두지 않고, 정책 제안과 평가의 주체로 세우겠다는 취지가 제도 안에 반영돼 있다.

이번에 위촉된 위원회는 앞으로 청소년 정책제안학교 운영, 청소년 정책제안대회 개최, 사업 이행 사항 모니터링, 간담회와 캠페인 참여, 타 지역 교류 등 다양한 활동을 맡게 된다. 단순 자문기구를 넘어 정책 발굴과 점검, 대외 교류까지 포괄하는 구조로 운영된다는 점에서 실질적 참여 폭이 적지 않다.
