[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 유순희 국민의힘 부산동구청장 예비후보가 6.3 지방선거 출마를 선언했다.
유순희 예비후보는 부산시의회 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열고 "동구의 심장을 다시 뛰게 하겠다"고 출마의 변을 밝혔다.
그는 지난 총선에서 생활정치의 보람을 깨닫고 동구청장에 도전한다고 설명했다. 부산의 뿌리이자 근대역사 박물관인 동구가 인구 감소 고령화 원도심 공동화 노후 주거 3중 위기에 직면했다고 진단하며 북항 재개발을 기회로 삼아 젊은 층 정주 환경을 만들겠다고 강조했다.
7대 핵심 비전
유 예비후보는 사람이 돌아오는 동구 북항 재개발 연계 경제 르네상스, 여성과 가족이 안전한 동구, 아이가 꿈꾸고 청년이 뿌리내리는 동구, 교통 생활환경 숨쉬는 동구, 디지털 혁신 스마트 행정 동구 등 7대 비전을 제시했다.
동구는 1985년 대비 인구 45퍼센트 감소 65세 이상 32퍼센트 노후 건축물 63퍼센트 재정자립도 전국 하위 3위 여성 경제활동 참가율 부산 최저 52퍼센트 중학생 10년간 14퍼센트 감소 버스 배차 간격 34분 등 7개 분야 동시 위기에 처해 통합 해결이 필요하다고 분석했다.

임기 내 빈집 200호 활용 리모델링 지원, 청년 창업 주거 복합 공간, 신혼부부 정착 패키지, 외국인 생활편의센터 동구, 드림백 프로그램을 통해 인구 유입을 도모한다.
북항 연계 전통시장 스마트 앱 개발, 진시장 초량시장 활성화, 야시장 푸드트럭 상설, 이바구길 야경 조성, 부산대첩기념관 건립, 폐공장 리노베이션, 소상공인 스마트 공방, 청년 스타트업 50팀 유치 경제살리기 TF를 운영한다.
여성 일자리 허브 센터 신설, 해양 물류, 여성 훈련 경력단절 창업 지원, 유연근무 캠페인, 성평등 정책관 직위 위원회, 여성 40퍼센트 확대, 노인 커뮤니티 케어, AI 돌봄 기기 산복도로, 이동 보조 무장애 시설 확대를 추진한다.
청년 문화 창작 공간 조성, 동구 청년 마켓 소셜미디어 쇼핑몰, 폐교 살리기 특화 교육, 근대 해양 문화 과정, 외국인 유학생 커뮤니티, 지역 특화 비자 활용, 산복도로 재개발, 마을버스 증편, 이태리 친퀘테레 특례 스마트 행정으로 여성이 이끄는 동구 변화를 약속했다.

Yoo held a press conference at the Busan City Council briefing room, vowing to "make Dong Ward's heart beat again." She cited her experience from the previous general election, where she realized local governance offers greater fulfillment than national politics.
Dong Ward, Busan's historic root and a living museum of modern Korean history, faces triple crises of population decline, super-aging, urban decay, and dilapidated housing, she said, pledging to leverage North Port redevelopment for revival.
Seven Core Visions
Yoo presented seven key visions: A Dong Ward where people return; North Port-linked economic renaissance; Safe Dong Ward for women and families; Dong Ward where children dream and youth take root; Breathable Dong Ward with better transport and living environments; Digitally innovative smart administration.
The ward has seen a 45 percent population drop since 1985, with seniors over 65 at 32 percent, aging buildings at 63 percent, fiscal self-reliance in the national bottom three, women's economic participation at Busan's lowest 52 percent, middle school students down 14 percent in a decade, and bus intervals averaging 34 minutes—demanding integrated solutions across population, economy, welfare, education, urban regeneration, women, and transport.
She plans to repurpose 200 vacant houses within her term via remodeling for young newlyweds, create youth startup-residence complexes, launch "Dong Ward Dream Bag" for returning Busan natives, and operate a foreign resident convenience center.
For economic revival, she proposes North Port-linked traditional market apps for Jinsa, Choryang, and Jayu Markets; night markets and food trucks; enhanced Choryang Iba-gu Trail tourism; Busan Victory Monument park; renovated factories into artisan workshops; 50 youth startups; and a mayor-led economic task force.
Gender policies include a women's job hub, marine logistics training for women, reemployment for career-interrupted women, flexible work campaigns, a gender equality policy officer, and 40 percent women in committees; elderly care features community systems, AI devices for solo seniors, dementia-safe initiatives, and barrier-free expansions.
Youth initiatives cover cultural creative spaces, Dong Ward youth markets with social media sales, specialized school programs blending modern maritime history, foreign student communities, regional visas, hilltop road regeneration modeled on Italy's Cinque Terre, village buses, and transparent digital administration to drive woman-led change.
