(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양경찰서가 23일, 2026년도 신학기를 맞아 하교(학원 이동 등)후 외부활동의 증가로 아동 대상 범죄예방 필요성이 증대되고 시민불안감 해소를 위해 선제적으로 대응하고자 하교시간대 경찰관을 집중배치하여 범죄예방활동을 하고 있다고 밝혔다.
계양서에 따르면, 이번 활동은 인천계양경찰서에서 자체적으로 추진하는 ‘어린이 보호를 위한 가시적 경찰 활동 강화계획’의 일환으로 오는 27일까지 2주간 형사과, 교통과, 여청과, 지구대(파출소) 5개소, 아동안전지킴이와 협력하여 취약하다고 판단되는 초등학교 14개소에 대해 하교 시간 오후 12시30분부터 오후 5시시까지 통학로에 배치되어 근무를 하게 된다.
경찰관 배치를 통해 학부모(학생), 학교관계자의 불안 요인을 청취하고 나아가 장시간 정차 중인 차량 등에 대해 적극적인 불심검문을 한다고 밝혔다.
박제혁 계양경찰서장은 “신학기를 맞아 학교에 적응하는 시기이며 하교시간대 불안감을 해소하여 어린이의 안전한 하굣길 조성을 위해 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
