(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천대학교 법학부가 2026학년도 1학기 전공 진로특강으로 마련한 표창원 범죄과학연구소장 초청 특강이 대학 구성원들의 높은 관심과 참여 속에 성황리에 개최됐다.
인천대에 따르면, 전공 진로 특강은 지난 19일 인천대학교 복지회관 소극장에서 ‘현대사회와 범죄심리’를 주제로 진행됐으며, 법학부 재학생을 비롯한 대학 구성원을 대상으로 범죄심리학과 법의 역할에 대한 이해를 높이고 진로 설계에 실질적인 도움을 주기 위해 마련됐다.
특히 본 특강은 사전 신청 단계부터 큰 관심을 모았다.
당초 계획된 장소를 넘어서는 신청자가 몰리면서 강연 장소를 소극장으로 변경하였으며, 사전 신청에만 240여 명의 재학생이 참여하는 등 높은 관심을 보였다.
이에 따라 수강 인원을 3차례에 걸쳐 확대했고, 행사 당일에는 약 300여 명의 대학 구성원이 참석해 소극장을 가득 메운 가운데 강연이 진행됐다.
이날 강연에서 표창원 소장은 실제 강력범죄 사례와 사회적 이슈를 바탕으로 범죄자의 심리 형성과정을 심층적으로 풀어냈다.
그는 “범죄는 단순한 악의 결과가 아니라, 인간의 욕구와 환경, 그리고 선택이 결합된 복합적인 결과”라고 설명하며, 범죄를 이해하는 것이 곧 사회를 이해하는 과정이라고 강조했다.
특히, 인간이 범죄를 저지르는 과정에서 나타나는 ‘합리화’, ‘책임 전가’, ‘감정 왜곡’ 등의 심리 기제를 구체적인 사례를 통해 설명하며, 학생들이 이론을 현실과 연결해 이해할 수 있도록 이끌었다.
이어 법은 단순한 처벌의 수단이 아니라, 사회의 균형을 회복하고 공동체를 지키는 최소한의 장치라는 점을 강조했다.
강연 후반부에서는 범죄 예방과 사회적 책임에 대한 메시지가 깊은 울림을 남겼다.
이 같은 메시지는 강연장의 분위기를 한층 더 진지하게 만들었으며, 일부 학생들은 고개를 끄덕이며 깊이 몰입하는 모습을 보였다.
강연이 끝난 뒤에도 쉽게 자리를 떠나지 못하는 모습이 이어지는 등, 단순한 강의를 넘어 하나의 경험으로 남는 시간이 되었다.
또, 표창원 소장은 복잡한 범죄 이론을 일상적인 언어로 풀어내고, 실제 사례와 유머를 적절히 섞어 전달하는 특유의 강의 방식으로 학생들의 집중도를 높였다.

약 2시간 동안 진행된 이번 특강을 통해 학생들은 범죄심리와 법의 역할에 대한 이해를 한층 심화시키고, 법학 전공자로서 사회를 바라보는 시각과 책임 의식에 대해 깊이 있는 고민을 이어가는 계기를 마련했다.
김호 인천대학교 법학부장은 “이번 특강은 학생들이 법학을 현실과 연결된 학문으로 인식하는 중요한 전환점이 되었을 것”이라며 “앞으로도 학생들에게 실질적인 통찰과 동기를 제공할 수 있는 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 인천대학교 법학부는 다양한 분야의 전문가를 초청한 전공 진로특강을 지속적으로 운영하며, 학생들의 전공 역량 강화와 진로 설계를 적극 지원할 계획이다.

또한, 인천대학교가 23일, 재외동포 8만명·다문화 가구원 8만 5천명, 그리고 외국인 12만 2천명이 거주하는 국내 최대 이주민 밀집지역 도시‘인천’의 다양성과 공존을 위해 ‘2026 글로벌 희망완성 프로젝트’를 힘차게 출항한다고 밝혔다.
인천대에 따르면, 관내 다문화가족을 초청하여 견학과 문화공연을 실시하거나 생필품을 제공했던 과거 한시적 프로그램에서 벗어나, ‘다양성·공존·확대성·지속성’을 기반으로 재외동포·다문화가족·고려인들에게 연간 16개의 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영 및 지원하겠다는 것이 인천대학교의 입장이다.
이번 프로그램은 인천시 지역혁신 중심 대학지원체계(i-RISE)의 [단위과제 4-③] ‘재외동포청 연계 외국유학생 정주지원’ 사업의 일환으로 추진되며, 인천대학교를 중심으로 재외동포청, 인천시가 함께 참여할 예정이다.
이에 이번 프로그램을 준비한 인천대학교 대외협력과는 “지난해 12월 20일과 올해 1월 10일 개최한 글로벌 희망완성 프로젝트 행사 참석자들의 절절한 소감을 접하면서 진정성 있는 행사 준비를 다짐했다”고 기획의도를 밝혔다.
이어 “대학의 자원을 활용하여 문화·예술·체육향유와 생활 밀착형 프로그램을 제공하고, 재외동포·다문화가족·고려인들이 사회의 일원으로써 자부심을 갖고 인천대학교와 손잡고 동행하기를 희망한다”고 전했다.
구체적으로 인천대학교가 마련한 ‘2026 글로벌 희망완성 프로젝트’16개 프로그램의 면면을 보면‘함박마을 고려인 대상 멘토링 사회봉사 교과 1·2, SSG 랜더스 필드 단체관람, 효원공원 월화원 봄 나들이, 재미있고 쉬운 학부모 대학 입시설명회, 생활과학 체험 부스 1·2’가 구성되어 있다.
그리고 ‘국회의사당 및 국립중앙박물관 탐방, 생활 배드민턴 및 탁구교실, 다문화 학생과 일반학생의 합동 스포츠 프로그램, MBTI 분석 프로그램, 생활법률 교실, 치어리딩 교실, 재외동포 및 다문화가족 연탄봉사, 성과 공유 및 보고회’가 뒤를 잇는다.
특히, 함박마을 거주 고려인 대상 멘토링 프로그램이 정식 사회봉사 교과목으로 처음 운영되며, 이번 1학기의 경우 인천대학교 재학생 11명이 멘토링에 참여하게 되면서 의미를 한층 더해 주었다.
이와 함께, 야구장 단체관람과 국회의사당 및 국립중앙박물관 탐방, 인천대학교 체육진흥원 소속 운동부 학생들의 재능기부 생활 스포츠 교실이 눈에 띄며, 재외동포와 다문화가족 등이 연탄봉사에 참여하고 사회 일원으로써 봉사의 가치를 되새겨보는 과정이 본 프로그램의 의미를 더해줄 것으로 여겨진다.
