【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구시교육청 한국어교육센터가 학기제 전환 이후 처음으로 위탁교육을 시작했다.
센터에 따르면 23일 입소식을 열고, 지역 내 5개 초·중·고등학교에서 온 이주배경 학생 23명을 대상으로 2024학년도 1학기 위탁교육을 본격적으로 진행한다. 이번 교육은 4월 21일부터 7월 23일까지 85일간 운영된다.
이번 과정의 가장 큰 특징은 생활·학습에 초점을 맞춘 한국어 집중수업과 다양한 문화·체험 활동을 함께 제공한다는 점이다. 한국어 수업은 총 340차시로 구성됐으며, 음악·미술·스포츠·정보 등 창의적 체험 활동도 170차시에 걸쳐 진행된다. 센터 측은 학기제 전환에 맞춰 학생별 맞춤 교육을 한층 강화했다고 설명했다.
입소식에서는 학부모를 위한 교육과정 안내와 함께 달서구가족센터와 연계한 다양한 프로그램 소개, 시설 견학도 있었다.
강은희 교육감은 "언어와 문화의 차이가 아이들의 학습에 걸림돌이 아닌, 새로운 가능성이 되도록 적극 지원하겠다"며 "학생들이 한국어 실력을 발판 삼아 학교생활에 빠르게 적응할 수 있도록 돕겠다"고 말했다.
센터는 지난해 67명의 수료생을 배출한 데 이어, 이들이 원적교에 복귀한 후 안정적으로 학교에 적응한 사례가 쌓이면서 이번 학기제 전환을 추진했다. 시교육청 역시 이번 위탁교육이 이주배경 학생들의 학업 연계와 심리적 안정에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
이번 학기 단위 위탁교육은 단기 적응 교육을 넘어 지속적인 학습 연계를 강화하려는 시도이자, 지역 다문화 교육정책의 운영 방식에 변화의 신호탄이 될 전망이다.

The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education’s Korean Language Education Center has launched its first commissioned education program since transitioning to the semester system.

Following the graduation of 67 students last year, the Center pushed for the transition to a semester-based system as cases of students stably adapting to school after returning to their original schools accumulated. The City Office of Education also expects this commissioned education program to be of great help to the academic continuity and psychological stability of students with immigrant backgrounds.
This semester-based commissioned education is an attempt to strengthen continuous learning continuity beyond short-term adaptation training, and is expected to signal a change in the operational methods of local multicultural education policies.
