충남 당진시가 고용노동부의 ‘취약 노동자 교육 및 법률구조 지원사업’ 공모에 2년 연속 선정돼, 오는 4월부터 지역 내 취약 노동자들을 대상으로 한 권리구제 지원을 본격화할 계획이다.
이번 사업은 열악한 근무환경에 놓인 노동자들의 권익을 보호하기 위한 것으로, 영세 사업장 근로자와 비정규직, 플랫폼 종사자, 외국인 노동자, 청소년 근로자 등을 주요 대상으로 한다.
당진시는 '당진시노동권익센터'를 중심으로 무료 법률상담, 노무사 법률 대행, 노동 관련 교육 프로그램 등을 제공한다.
특히 올해는 현장에서 자주 발생하는 임금체불, 산업재해, 부당해고 등 주요 문제를 중심으로 교육 내용을 강화한다. 단순한 상담에 그치지 않고, 소규모 사업주까지 포함한 ‘찾아가는 맞춤형 노동교육’을 통해 사전 예방 효과를 높이겠다는 구상이다.
당진시는 또 이동상담실을 운영해 권리 침해 사례를 적극 발굴하고, 필요 시 심층 상담과 법률 대리 서비스를 지원한다. 이를 통해 피해 노동자들이 보다 신속하게 구제를 받을 수 있는 체계를 마련한다는 방침이다.
법률구제 지원은 월평균 임금 300만 원 미만 근로자 또는 기초생활수급자 중 권리구제가 필요한 이들을 대상으로 한다. 공인노무사가 진정서 작성부터 사건 접수, 행정 절차까지 전 과정을 무료로 대행한다.
당진시 관계자는 “노동 사건의 예방부터 권리구제까지 단계별로 지원하는 원스톱 서비스를 제공할 계획”이라며 “예산이 한정된 만큼 관심 있는 시민들의 빠른 신청을 바란다”고 전했다.
