춘천시는 출퇴근 시간마다 주차장을 방불케 하던 후평3동 행정복지센터에서 후평주공4단지 입구까지 약 130m 구간의 기존 2차로를 3차로로 넓히는 대대적인 확장 공사에 돌입한다고 24일 밝혔다.
해당 도로는 2차로와 3차로가 기형적으로 뒤섞여 있어 차량 흐름이 뚝 끊기고 꼬리 물기가 빈번하게 발생하던 골칫거리 구간이었다. 이에 뿔난 지역 주민들의 도로 확장 요구가 빗발쳤고, 시는 지난해 주민설명회를 열어 날 것 그대로의 현장 목소리를 수렴, 이번 교통 흐름 개선의 밑그림을 완성했다.
총사업비 3억 원이 과감하게 투입되는 이번 공사는 오는 26일 힘찬 첫 삽을 뜨며, 6월 준공을 목표로 쾌속 추진된다.
