중부해경청에 따르면, 마약수사대는 국정원 지부 및 인천본부세관과의 공조를 통해 A씨의 해외 대마 재배용품 수입 정황을 포착하고 수사를 진행하던 중, 해당 비닐하우스에서 대마를 은밀히 재배 중인 사실을 확인했다.
비닐하우스 외부는 일반적인 스마트팜 재배시설과 동일한 형태였으나, 내부에는 판넬 구조의 비밀 밀실을 설치하고 해상 특송을 통해 수입한 대마 재배 장비를 이용해 대마를 재배한 것으로 드러났다.
비닐하우스와 주거지에 대한 압수수색 결과, A씨가 재배·제조한 대마초 약 3,960g(시가 약 6억 원 상당, 약 7,920명 흡연분)과 재배 중인 대마 7주를 압수했다.
