[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 국민의힘 부산시당은 24일 부산 글로벌 허브 도시 특별법이 국회 행정안전위 법안심사소위를 통과한 데 대해 “2년 가까이 법안을 막아온 민주당이 선거를 앞두고 뒤늦게 처리에 나섰다”며 “부산 시민을 기망하는 행태”라고 비판했다.
국민의힘 부산시당은 이날 성명을 내고 “부산 지역 여야 의원이 공동 발의하고 부처 간 조율까지 마친 특별법이 22대 국회 내내 더불어민주당에 가로막혀 있었다”며 “민주당은 자신들이 추진하는 다른 법안들은 일방 처리하면서도 이 법안만큼은 649일 동안 공청회만 미루며 시간을 끌었다”고 주장했다.
부산시당은 “박형준 부산시장과 국민의힘 의원들이 수차례 법안 처리를 요구했지만 민주당은 거부했고, 전재수 의원 역시 침묵했다”며 “그런데 전 의원이 부산시장 선거 출마를 준비하자 민주당이 그에게 공을 돌리려 한다”고 비판했다.
이어 “정권이 바뀌고 선거가 가까워지자 민주당은 법안 처리를 서두르며 이를 전재수 의원의 성과로 포장하려 하고 있다”며 “이는 부산 시민을 우롱하는 행위”라고 말했다.
또한 전 의원이 통일교로부터 현금과 명품 시계 등 금품을 받았다는 의혹으로 피의자 신분에 있다는 점을 언급하며 “의혹이 제기된 지 7개월 만에야 첫 소환조사가 이뤄졌는데, 전 의원은 ‘빠른 결론을 기대한다’며 사실상 선거 전 면죄를 요구했다”고 비판했다.
부산시당은 “이재명 정부는 전 의원의 무능을 유능으로, 의혹을 누명으로 포장하고 있다”며 “부산 시민은 거짓의 가면 뒤에 숨은 진짜 모습을 알고 있다. 이번 지방선거에서 반드시 심판할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 정동만 부산시당위원장은 때 늦게 부산 글로벌허브도시 특별법 처리를 촉구하고 나선 더불어민주당 전재수 의원을 향해 강도 높은 비판의 목소리를 냈다.
정 위원장은 "민주당은 그동안 부산의 간절한 요구를 철저히 외면해왔다"면서 "국민의힘이 지난 2년간 입법공청회 개최와 조속한 법안 통과를 수도 없이 요구했으나 민주당은 그때마다 눈과 귀를 닫고 무관심으로 일관해 왔다"고 비판했다.

특히 정 위원장은 국회 천막당사 운영과 160만 부산시민 서명부 전달 등 특별법 통과를 위해 국민의힘이 기울여온 노력을 강조했다. "민주당 소속 행안위 위원장과 소위원장에게 읍소까지 하며 매달렸음에도, 법안 처리를 지연시킨 주체가 이제 와서 자신들이 앞장서는 것처럼 행동하는 것은 전형적인 공 가로채기"라고 꼬집었다.
또한 정 위원장은 이러한 행태가 기장군 정관선 사업에서도 반복되고 있다고 언급했다. 수많은 시간과 노력이 투입된 지역 숙원 사업을 현수막 하나로 자신들의 성과처럼 포장하는 민주당의 모습에 깊은 유감을 표했다.
정 위원장은 "정치인은 제발 양심을 지켜야 한다"고 일갈하며 "국민이 진정으로 원하는 것은 남의 노력을 가로채는 영악함이 아니라 지역 발전을 위해 묵묵히 정진하는 한결같은 모습"이라고 덧붙였다.

The Busan Chapter of the People Power Party issued a stern statement on the 24th regarding the recent passage of the Special Act for Busan Global Hub City through the National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee's subcommittee. The party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for obstructing the bill for nearly two years and only moving toward its processing ahead of the upcoming elections, calling it an act of deception against Busan citizens.
The People Power Party Busan Chapter noted in its statement that the special act, which was co-sponsored by lawmakers from both parties in the Busan region and had undergone inter-departmental coordination, remained blocked by the Democratic Party throughout the 22nd National Assembly. They argued that while the Democratic Party unilaterally processed other bills they favored, they delayed this specific bill for 649 days by repeatedly postponing public hearings.
The Busan Chapter further pointed out that despite repeated requests for the bill’s processing from Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon and People Power Party lawmakers, the Democratic Party refused and Representative Jun Jae-soo remained silent. They criticized that now, as Representative Jun prepares for the Busan mayoral election, the Democratic Party is attempting to credit him for the bill's progress.
The party stated that as the election nears, the Democratic Party is rushing the bill's processing to frame it as an achievement of Representative Jun Jae-soo, which they described as mocking the citizens of Busan. They also mentioned that Representative Jun is currently a suspect regarding allegations of receiving cash and luxury watches from the Unification Church. They criticized his call for a quick conclusion to the investigation as effectively demanding an exoneration before the election.
The Busan Chapter concluded by stating that the current administration is attempting to mask Representative Jun's incompetence as competence and frame the allegations against him as a setup. They asserted that Busan citizens recognize the truth behind the mask and will deliver a judgment in the upcoming local elections.
Meanwhile, Jung Dong-man, Chairman of the People Power Party Busan Chapter, voiced strong criticism against Representative Jun Jae-soo for belatedly calling for the passage of the special act. Chairman Jung stated that the Democratic Party has consistently ignored Busan’s urgent demands. He argued that the People Power Party had requested public hearings and the swift passage of the bill countless times over the past two years, but the Democratic Party remained indifferent every time.
In particular, Chairman Jung highlighted the efforts made by the People Power Party to pass the special act, such as operating a tent headquarters at the National Assembly and delivering a petition signed by 1.6 million Busan citizens. He pointed out that those who delayed the bill's processing despite pleas made to the Democratic Party chairs of the Public Administration and Security Committee are now acting as if they are leading the effort, calling it a typical case of taking credit for others' work.
Chairman Jung also mentioned that this pattern is being repeated in the Jeonggwan Line project in Gijang County. He expressed deep regret over the Democratic Party's attempt to package a long-standing regional project, which required immense time and effort, as their own achievement with a single banner. He urged politicians to maintain their conscience, adding that what the public truly wants is not the cleverness of stealing credit, but a consistent commitment to regional development.
