(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 25일, 서구 금곡동 아이푸드파크(I-Food Park) 산업단지 입주 사업장을 대상으로 대기·폐수 배출시설 합동단속을 실시한 결과 위반 사업장 5곳이 적발됐다.
인천시에 따르면, 아이푸드파크(I-Food Park)는 수산물, 육류, 식품첨가물 등 식품을 생산하는 업체들이 모여 있는 산업단지로, 현재 약 60개 사업장이 대기와 폐수 배출시설을 신고하고 운영 중이다.
이번 단속은 산업단지 일부 사업장에서 폐수 배출허용기준을 초과한 오염수 배출 민원이 잇따르면서 실시됐다.
공공폐수처리장에서도 기준을 넘는 폐수 유입으로 처리 부담이 커지고 있다는 지적이 이어졌다.
인천시는 자체 점검 과정에서 기준 초과 사례가 반복적으로 확인된 18개 사업장을 중심으로 집중 단속을 진행했다.
인천시와 군·구 공무원 16명이 2인 1조, 8개 조로 나눠 현장을 점검했다.
점검에서는 배출시설 설치 허가·신고사항 이행 여부, 방지시설 규모 및 용량 적정성, 오염물질 배출량 대비 처리능력, 배출시설·방지시설 운영기록부 작성 여부 등을 중점 확인했다.
단속 결과, 5개 사업장에서 폐수배출시설 가동 시작 미신고, 수소이온농도(pH) 기준 위반, 환경기술인 교육 미이수 등 위반 사항이 확인됐다.
인천시는 해당 사업장에 대해 고발 조치와 함께 행정처분 및 과태료 부과 절차를 진행 중이다.
또한, 현장에서 채취한 폐수 시료를 인천보건환경연구원에 의뢰해 분석한 결과, BOD(생물화학적 산소요구량) 및 TOC(총유기탄소) 기준 초과 1개소, SS(부유물질) 기준 초과 1개소가 각각 확인됐다.
인천시는 기준을 초과한 사업장에 대해 초과배출부과금을 추가로 부과할 예정이다.
인천시는 이번 단속에 포함되지 않은 사업장에 대해서도 상반기 내 순차적인 지도·점검을 이어갈 방침이다.
