(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천대학교가 25일, 과학기술정보통신부가 추진하는 ‘2026년도 이공분야 개인기초연구사업’ 1차 공모에서 총 49개 과제가 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
인천대에 따르면, 이번 공모에서는 총 49개 과제가 선정돼 신청 대비 선정률 34.5%를 기록했다.
총 연구비 규모는 약 231억원에 달하며 이는 전년 대비 선정 과제 수가 크게 증가한 것으로, 인천대학교의 기초연구 역량이 한층 강화된 결과로 평가된다.
세부적으로는 중견연구자를 지원하는 핵심연구 분야에서 총 29개 과제가 선정됐으며, 선정률은 35.4%로 나타났다.
도전적 연구를 지원하는 도약형 과제도 포함되며 연구의 다양성과 도전성이 함께 강화된 것으로 나타났다.
핵심연구 분야 선정 연구자로는 수학과 이승재 교수, 에너지화학공학과 이창연 교수, 도시건축학부 구충완 교수 등이 포함됐다.
신진연구 분야에서는 총 19개 과제가 선정돼 선정률 34.5%를 기록했다.
이를 통해 젊은 연구자의 성장 기반이 확대되고 연구 경쟁력 또한 강화된 것으로 분석된다.
신진연구 분야 선정 연구자로는 안전공학과 최재헌 교수, 화학과 이창민 교수 등이 포함됐다.
이번 성과는 전년 대비 선정 규모가 크게 증가한 것으로, 인천대학교의 연구 참여 확대와 질적 성장이 동시에 이루어진 결과로 평가된다.
인천대학교 강동구 산학협력단장은 “이번 개인기초연구사업 선정 확대는 우리 대학 연구자들의 경쟁력과 연구 몰입 환경이 크게 향상된 결과”라며 “앞으로도 연구자 중심 지원을 강화하고, 우수 연구성과 창출을 통해 국가 기초연구 발전에 기여하겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 인천대학교는 연구지원 체계 고도화와 단계별 연구 지원 프로그램을 통해 연구자의 안정적인 연구 수행을 지속적으로 지원할 계획이다.
또한, 인천대학교가 25일, 식품의약품안전처와 한국대학교육협의회가 주관하는 ‘2026년 대학생·유학생 마약류 예방교육 운영 지원사업’에 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
인천대에 따르면, 이번 선정으로 인천대는 대학 내 마약 예방교육과 인식 개선 활동을 체계적으로 추진할 수 있는 기반을 확보하게 됐다.
이번 사업은 전국 주요 대학을 대상으로 대학별 자율적인 마약 예방교육 프로그램 운영과 성과 관리를 지원하는 사업으로, 선정 대학에는 약 1천만 원의 사업비가 지원된다.
인천대는 그간 학생 중심 복지 참여형 프로그램 운영 경험을 바탕으로 실효성 있는 예방교육 모델을 제시한 점이 높이 평가된 것으로 분석된다.
특히, 최근 청년층을 중심으로 마약 문제가 확산되는 가운데, 또래 기반 예방 활동의 중요성이 강조되고 있다.
실제 대학생들이 참여하는 ‘B.B.서포터즈’대학생들은 디지털 콘텐츠 제작, 캠퍼스 캠페인, SNS 홍보 등을 통해 또래 집단에 직접 메시지를 전달하는 역할을 수행할 예정이다.
인천대는 이번 사업을 통해 내·외국인 학생 대상 맞춤형 예방교육, 체험형 전시 및 캠페인 운영, SNS 기반 디지털 콘텐츠 확산, 위험군 학생 상담 연계 등 다각적인 예방체계를 구축할 계획이다.
인천대학교 이영수 학생·취업처장은 “이번 사업 선정은 대학 차원의 예방교육 역량과 학생 참여 기반 활동이 대외적으로 인정받은 결과”라며 “재학생이 주체적으로 주도하는 예방 활동을 통해 건강한 캠퍼스 환경을 조성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
