북부지방산림청은 26일 원주시 판부면 서곡리 용수골 계곡 일원에서 산림 계곡 내 불법 점용시설 집중 단속 현장 점검을 전격 실시했다고 밝혔다.

산림 계곡 주변에 우후죽순 설치된 평상, 천막, 가설건축물 등 다양한 형태의 불법 점용시설은 심각한 산림 훼손은 물론, 시민들의 쾌적한 계곡 이용 질서를 저해하는 주된 원인으로 지적되어 왔다. 이에 북부지방산림청은 체계적이고 강력한 조사를 통해 불법 시설물 정비에 나서고 있다.

이번 점검은 ‘2026년 산림 계곡 내 불법 점용시설 단속·정비 추진계획’의 일환으로 진행된다. 북부지방산림청은 소속 산림특별사법경찰을 주축으로 가용 인력과 자원을 총동원해 항공사진 판독과 세밀한 현장 조사를 병행하고 있다. 특히 3월 한 달간 관내 전수조사를 완료한 뒤, 이를 바탕으로 단계적인 정비를 추진할 계획이다.
