<브레이크뉴스 포천 = 김형렬 기자> 포천시가 다가오는 제81회 식목일을 뜻깊게 기념하고, 시민들에게 나무 심기의 기쁨과 숲의 소중함을 알리기 위한 묘목 나눔 행사를 성황리에 마무리했다.

포천시와 산림청 국립산림과학원은 지난 26일 포천체육공원 일원에서 지역 주민들을 대상으로 한 ‘내 나무 갖기 캠페인’을 전격 개최했다고 27일 밝혔다.
‘국민이 심는 녹색 대한민국’이라는 슬로건 아래 진행된 이번 행사는, 시민들이 일상생활 속에서 직접 나무를 심고 가꾸며 숲이 선사하는 치유의 가치를 체감하고 녹색 실천에 자발적으로 동참할 수 있도록 기획됐다.

올해로 13회째를 맞이한 이번 나눔 행사에서는 봄철 화사한 꽃을 피우는 산수유나무와 산벚나무를 비롯해, 유용한 약재로 널리 쓰이는 헛개나무, 오갈피나무, 음나무 등 총 10개 수종 3,000여 그루의 묘목이 시민들에게 무료로 배부되어 큰 호응을 얻었다.
아울러 시는 건조한 봄철 산불주의기간을 맞아 대대적인 산불조심 캠페인도 함께 전개했다. 나무를 심는 것만큼이나 숲을 화마로부터 지켜내는 것이 중요하다는 점을 강조하며 시민들의 각별한 주의와 경각심을 일깨웠다.
