횡성군은 강원특별자치도가 주관한 ‘2026년 경관디자인 공모사업’에 군이 응모한 ‘성북초등학교 안심 통학 환경 조성 사업’이 최종 선정되는 쾌거를 거두며, 도비 등 총 1억 원의 알토란 같은 사업비를 확보했다고 27일 밝혔다.
이번 사업의 핵심은 초등학생들의 안전한 등하굣길을 보장하고, 상대적으로 낙후된 학교 주변의 도시 경관을 쾌적하게 탈바꿈시키는 데 있다. 이에 따라 군은 학생과 주민들의 통행량이 집중되는 성북초등학교 일대에 고보조명(바닥 로고 조명), 옐로카펫, 횡단보도 매립등과 같은 첨단 교통안전 시설물을 대거 확충해 야간 보행 안전까지 빈틈없이 챙길 계획이다.
