[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 나경원 의원이 제11회 ‘서해수호의 날’을 맞아 정동영 통일부 장관의 최근 발언을 강력히 비판하며 이재명 대통령에게 즉각적인 경질을 요구하고 나섰다.
나 의원은 자신의 SNS를 통해 “조국의 바다를 지키다 산화한 55영웅을 기리는 엄숙한 시기에, 통일부 장관이 자유대한민국의 정체성을 부정하는 참담한 망언을 내뱉었다”며 포문을 열었다.
“북한 입장 대변하는 ‘한조(韓朝)관계’ 호칭은 망발”
나 의원이 문제 삼은 대목은 정 장관이 최근 공식 석상에서 북한을 ‘조선민주주의인민공화국’으로, 남북관계를 ‘한조관계’로 칭한 부분이다.
그는 이를 두고 “김정은의 ‘적대적 두 국가론’에 부화뇌동하며 북한의 입장을 대변하는 것이냐”고 반문하며, “대한민국 통일부 장관인지, 북한 조선노동당 대변인인지 귀를 의심케 하는 망발”이라고 거칠게 몰아세웠다.
특히 나 의원은 헌법적 가치를 들어 정 장관의 사퇴를 압박했다. 대한민국 영토를 한반도와 그 부속도서로 규정한 헌법 제3조와 자유민주적 기본질서에 입각한 평화 통일을 명시한 제4조를 언급하며, “남북은 국가 대 국가가 아닌 통일을 지향하는 과정에서의 ‘특수관계’인데, 이를 부정하는 것은 명백한 헌법 유린”이라고 지적했다.
“안보 의식 해체하는 가짜 평화의 민낯”
나 의원은 이재명 정부의 전반적인 안보 정책에 대해서도 날을 세웠다. 그는 “한미연합훈련 축소와 유엔 북한인권결의안 공동제안국 불참 검토 등 이 정권의 안보 의식 해체 현주소가 참담하다”며 “천안함 폭침에 사과 없는 북한에 면죄부를 주어 피아 식별마저 흐릿하게 만들고 있다”고 비판했다.
이어 “국가 안보의 근간인 국민의 올바른 대적관을 마취시키고 해체하는 것이 이 정권이 부르짖는 가짜 평화의 끔찍한 민낯”이라며 강한 우려를 표했다.
나 의원은 “내부의 적이 가장 무서운 법이다. 북한의 입장을 대변하며 헌법 가치를 훼손하는 자는 국무위원 자격이 없다”며, 이재명 대통령을 향해 정동영 장관의 즉각적인 경질을 거듭 촉구했다.

Rep. Na Kyung-won has launched a fierce critique against Unification Minister Chung Dong-young, calling on President Lee Jae-myung for his immediate dismissal. The demand comes amidst the 11th 'West Sea Defense Day,' a day dedicated to honoring the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives protecting South Korea's waters.
In a statement posted on social media, Rep. Na opened fire by stating, "At a solemn time when we should be honoring the 55 heroes of the West Sea, the Unification Minister has uttered disastrous remarks that deny the identity of a free Republic of Korea."
Controversy Over ‘Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’ and ‘Han-Jo Relations’
The core of Rep. Na’s criticism lies in Minister Chung’s recent use of North Korea’s official name, the “Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” and his referring to inter-Korean relations as “Han-Jo (South-North) Relations” during an official appearance.
"Is he echoing Kim Jong-un’s 'Hostile Two-State Theory' and representing North Korea’s interests?" Na questioned. She further slammed the remarks as "outrageous statements that make one doubt whether he is the South Korean Unification Minister or a spokesperson for the Workers' Party of Korea."
Rep. Na emphasized that the Minister’s rhetoric constitutes a clear violation of the Constitution. Citing Article 3 (defining ROK territory as the Korean Peninsula and its islands) and Article 4 (mandating peaceful unification based on liberal democratic order), she argued, "South and North Korea are not two separate states in a standard international sense, but a 'special relationship' formed temporarily in the process of seeking unification. To deny this is to deny the very reason the Ministry of Unification exists."
“The Grim Reality of a Deconstructed Security Consciousness”
Rep. Na also extended her criticism to the broader security policies of the Lee Jae-myung administration. She pointed to the reduction of ROK-U.S. joint military exercises and reports that the government is considering abstaining as a co-sponsor of the UN North Korean Human Rights Resolution.
"The administration is blurring the line between perpetrator and victim by granting immunity to North Korea's atrocities, such as the sinking of the ROKS Cheonan, for which they never apologized," she said. "This terrifying act of anesthetizing the public's perception of our enemies is the true, grim face of the 'fake peace' this administration cries out for."
Rep. Na concluded her statement by warning that "the internal enemy is the most dangerous." She asserted that anyone who represents North Korea’s position and undermines constitutional values is unfit to be a member of the Cabinet, reiterating her demand for President Lee Jae-myung to dismiss Minister Chung Dong-young immediately.
