(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 30일 오전 9시부터 5월 29일 오후 4시까지 경제적 어려움을 겪는 청년의 주거비 부담을 덜기 위해 월 20만 원씩 최대 24개월간, 총 480만 원의 월세를 지원하는 ‘청년월세 지원사업’ 신청자를 모집한다고 밝혔다.
인천시에 따르면, 지원대상은 부모님과 별도 거주하는 19세부터 39세 이하의 무주택 청년으로, 인천시는 더 많은 청년이 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 국토교통부의 청년월세 한시 특별지원 사업(19~34세)보다 연령 기준을 5세 확대해 지원하고 있다.
올해부터 의무복무 제대군인의 경우, 군복무 기간을 고려하여 신청 가능 연령을 최대 3세까지 추가로 연장한다.
군복무 기간이 1년 미만이면 1세 연장(40세), 군복무 기간이 1년 이상 2년 미만이면 2세 연장(41세), 군복무 기간이 2년 이상 5년 미만이면 3세(42세)까지 신청할 수 있다.
소득 및 재산 기준은 청년가구와 원가구에 각각 적용된다.

올해 신규 모집 인원은 약 2,750명으로 예상되며, 예산 범위 내에서 소득·재산 기준을 반영한 우선순위 선발 방식을 적용해, 경제적 여건이 더 어려운 청년을 우선 지원한다.
신청은 연령에 따라 온라인과 오프라인으로 가능하다.
19세부터 34세까지는 ‘복지로’, 35세부터 39세까지는 ‘인천청년포털’을 통해 온라인으로 신청할 수 있으며, 관할 행정복지센터(동구·부평구는 구청)를 방문해 오프라인으로도 신청할 수 있다.
