[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군이 청정 농특산물을 앞세워 오세아니아 대륙의 관문인 호주 시장 공략에 속도를 내고 있다. 세계한인경제무역협회(OKTA) 시드니지회 바이어들을 안마당으로 불러 ‘K-거창 푸드’의 저력을 과시했다.
지난 27일 거창군 미래농업복합교육관은 거창의 맛과 호주의 자본이 만난 열띤 비즈니스의 장으로 변모했다. 이번 ‘해외 한인 바이어 수출상담회’는 호주 시드니 지역에서 활동하는 한인 경제인들과 거창 관내 수출업체 간의 실질적인 무역 교류를 위해 기획됐다.
이날 상담회에는 시드니 현지 바이어 12명과 거창군 수출업체 관계자 23명 등 총 35명이 참석했다. 거창의 대표 주자인 사과와 딸기는 물론, 이를 활용한 고부가가치 가공식품들이 테이블에 올랐다. 바이어들은 거창 농산물의 당도와 엄격한 품질 관리 체계에 높은 점수를 주었으며, 이날 하루에만 총 50만 달러 규모의 상담 실적을 기록하는 성과를 거뒀다.
수출상담회에 앞서 거창군과 OKTA 시드니지회는 ‘거창농식품 해외시장 진출 협력을 위한 업무협약(MOU)’을 체결하며 지속 가능한 수출 동력을 확보하며, 호주 내 거창 농식품 공동 마케팅 추진 등 다각적인 협력 체계를 가동하기로 약속했다.
김현미 거창군수 권한대행은 “이번 상담회가 거창 농식품의 해외 판로를 확대하고 가시적인 수출 성과로 이어지는 계기가 되기를 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 국제 네트워크를 활용한 지속적인 교류와 협력을 통해 수출 기반을 더욱 강화해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
