【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대경대학교가 영천청년센터 운영기관으로 선정되면서, 지역 청년 유출을 막기 위한 ‘정주 모델’ 구축 실험에 돌입한다.
대경대는 30일 영천청년센터 민간위탁 운영기관으로 최종 선정됐다고 밝혔다.
앞으로 2년간 약 5억 원을 투입해 취·창업 연계 프로그램과 문화콘텐츠 기반의 청년 정착 전략을 진행할 계획이다.
사업의 핵심은 ‘취업–정착–유지’까지 아우르는 원스톱 지원에 있다. 대경대는 연간 60건의 전문자격 취득과 30명 이상의 취·창업 실적을 목표로 정했다.
또, 첫 직장 유지율 80% 달성을 위해 ‘리턴매칭’ 등 사후관리 프로그램도 운영할 예정이다. 1,447개 가족회사와의 연계를 통한 채용 지원도 추진한다는 방침이다.
문화콘텐츠를 활용한 청년 유입 전략도 병행한다. K-모델, K-팝, 영상 크리에이팅 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 연간 5,000명 이상의 방문을 유도하고, 영천을 ‘문화 생산형 청년 거점’으로 만들겠다는 계획이다.
학내 24개 ‘Exp-UP Station’과 공용장비센터도 개방할 예정이며, 고숙련 교육 이수자에게는 나노디그리를 부여해 취업 경쟁력 제고에 나선다.
사업은 3단계로 추진된다. 먼저 오는 6월까지 기반을 마련한 뒤 내년 9월까지 정착형 모델을 고도화하고, 이후 성공 사례는 콘텐츠로 제작해 확산할 방침이다.
이채영 대경대 관계자는 “청년들이 지역에서 경쟁력을 갖추고 안정적으로 정착할 수 있는 모델을 만들겠다”고 말했다.

Strategies to attract youth utilizing cultural content will be implemented in parallel. The plan is to attract over 5,000 visitors annually through various programs such as K-modeling, K-pop, and video creation, and to establish Yeongcheon as a "culture-producing youth hub."
Twenty-four on-campus "Exp-UP Stations" and a shared equipment center are also scheduled to open, and nano-degrees will be awarded to those who complete high-skilled training to enhance their employability.
The project will be implemented in three phases. First, the foundation will be laid by this coming June, followed by the refinement of the settlement model by next September. Subsequently, successful cases will be produced as content to be disseminated.
Lee Chae-young, an official at Daekyung University, stated, "We will create a model that enables young people to gain competitiveness in the region and settle down stably."
