(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 최근 주요 현안 해결 및 지역 발전을 도모하기 위해 더불어민주당과 예산정책협의회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
서구에 따르면, 이번 협의회에는 더불어민주당 김교흥 국회의원(서구갑), 이용우 국회의원(서구을), 모경종 국회의원(서구병)을 비롯한 시·구의원 및 관계자와 강범석 구청장을 포함한 서구 간부공무원 등 총 41명이 참석했다.
회의는 2026년 서구 주요 재정사업 및 검단구 출범 주요 업무추진 현황 보고 서구 지역 발전을 위한 토론 및 협의 순으로 진행됐다.
○ 안정적 지방재정 운영을 위한 제도 개선 요청
서구에서는 안정적인 지방재정 운영을 위한 재원확보 계획 및 서구 주요 재정사업 현황 등에 대해 보고하고 지방이양사업 국비 보전기간 연장, 시세(주민세 개인분)의 자치구 재원 이전, 조정교부금 교부율 상향 조정, 개편자치구 특별조정교부금 서구 지원 등 중앙과 시 차원에서의 재정 지원과 제도 개선을 요청했다.
○ 2026년 검단구 출범 준비 만전, 행정 공백 최소화 주력

송승환 서구의회 의장은 “의회와 집행부의 협의를 통해 성공적인 분구를 이끌고, 필수 기반 시설 구축도 충분히 검토하여 발전적인 방향으로 나아가겠다”고 했다.
강범석 서구청장은 “자치구의 안정적인 자주 재원 확보와 행정체제개편 준비 및 서구 전역에 필요한 사업에 대해 중앙정부와 광역자치단체의 각별한 관심과 지원을 당부드린다”고 전했다.
