대구지방고용노동청은 국가인적자원개발컨소시엄 사업의 일환으로 ‘AI특화공동훈련센터’ 3개소를 지정했다고 밝혔다.
AI특화공동훈련센터는 지역 내 대기업과 거점 대학 등이 보유한 인프라를 활용해 중소기업 재직자들에게 AI 전문 교육을 무료로 제공하는 사업이다. 훈련 과정은 자동차, 철강·금속 제조, 로봇 제조 등 지역 전략산업에 특화된 실습 중심 프로그램으로 구성된다.
특히 제조공정 불량 예측 모델 구축, 데이터 대시보드 개발 등 산업 현장에서 바로 활용 가능한 실무형 교육이 중점적으로 운영될 예정이다.
대구·경북 지역에는 ▲경북IT융합산업기술원-아진산업(주) ▲포항공과대학교-경북ICT융합산업진흥협회 ▲한국로봇융합연구원 등 3개 컨소시엄이 선정됐다. 이를 통해 AI 도입이 필요한 중소·중견기업의 경쟁력 강화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
고용노동부는 매년 사업계획 심사를 통해 운영 방향과 지원 규모를 확정하고, 센터당 연간 5억 원 내외의 예산을 지원할 계획이다. 또한 관계 부처와 협업해 우수사례를 발굴하고 지역 기업의 AI 전환을 체계적으로 지원한다는 방침이다.
한편 4월 중 약 600개 중소기업을 대상으로 AI 전환 수준 진단이 진행되며, 5월부터 본격적인 공동훈련이 시작될 예정이다. 교육 과정은 HRD4U 홈페이지를 통해 확인할 수 있으며, 참여를 희망하는 기업은 각 센터로 문의하면 된다.
황종철 대구지방고용노동청장은 “AI가 산업 전반으로 빠르게 확산되며 일하는 방식과 조직 문화도 변화하고 있다”며 “구직자와 재직자 모두가 AI 역량을 갖출 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The training courses consist of practice-oriented programs specialized for regional strategic industries, such as automobiles, steel and metal manufacturing, and robot manufacturing.
In particular, the centers are scheduled to focus on practical training that can be immediately applied in the industrial field, such as building manufacturing process defect prediction models and developing data dashboards. In the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, three consortia have been selected: the Gyeongbuk IT Convergence Industry Technology Institute and Ajin Industry Co., Ltd., Pohang University of Science and Technology and the Gyeongbuk ICT Convergence Industry Promotion Association, and the Korea Robot Convergence Research Institute. This initiative is expected to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies that require the adoption of AI.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to finalize operational directions and support scales through annual business plan reviews, providing an annual budget of approximately 500 million won per center. Furthermore, the ministry intends to collaborate with relevant ministries to identify best practices and systematically support the AI transition of local companies.
Meanwhile, an assessment of AI transition levels will be conducted for approximately 600 SMEs in April, and joint training is scheduled to begin in earnest starting in May. The training courses can be viewed on the HRD4U website, and companies wishing to participate should contact their respective centers. Hwang Jong-cheol, Head of the Daegu Regional Employment and Labor Office, stated, “As AI rapidly spreads across industries, working methods and organizational culture are also changing,” adding, “We will actively support both job seekers and current employees so that they can acquire AI capabilities.”
