의성군은 3월 31일 군청 회의실에서 ‘봄철 대형산불 대책기간 추진상황 중간점검 회의’를 열고 그간의 산불 예방 활동을 점검했다고 밝혔다.
이번 회의는 건조한 날씨와 강풍 등으로 산불 발생 위험이 지속되는 상황에서 추진됐으며, 예방 활동 전반을 점검하고 미흡한 부분을 보완하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 회의에서는 ▲산불 취약지역 관리 실태 ▲읍·면별 예방활동 추진 현황 ▲불법 소각 단속 및 계도 실적 ▲산불 발생 시 초동 대응체계 운영 상황 등을 종합적으로 점검하고, 대응 과정에서 나타난 문제점과 개선방안을 논의했다.
특히 의성군은 산림 인접지와 농경지, 입산통제구역 등 취약지역을 중심으로 감시와 순찰을 강화하고, 마을순찰대와 의용소방대 등 지역 인력을 활용한 현장 밀착형 예방활동을 확대할 계획이다.
또한 산불 발생 시 신속한 상황 전파와 초기 진화를 위해 비상연락체계를 상시 유지하고, 유관기관과의 협력 체계를 강화해 대응 역량을 높인다는 방침이다.
김주수 의성군수는 “이번 점검을 통해 드러난 취약 요소를 신속히 보완하고 현장 중심 대응체계를 더욱 강화하겠다”며 “작은 부주의가 대형산불로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 소각행위 금지 등 예방수칙을 반드시 준수해 달라”고 당부했다.
한편 의성군은 대책기간 종료 시까지 취약지역 중심의 집중 예찰과 불법 소각행위 단속을 지속하는 등 산불 예방과 대응에 행정력을 집중할 계획이다.
