정 예비후보는 “김 전 총리가 대구시장 출마를 선언하면서 대구경북 행정통합, 민군통합공항 이전, 취수원 문제 해결, 2차 공공기관 이전, 산업구조 재편 등 여러 정책을 약속했다”며 “이른바 ‘선물 보따리’가 과연 대구시민 전체를 위한 것인지, 특정 후보만을 위한 것인지 의문을 갖지 않을 수 없다”고 주장했다.
이어 “여당 지도부에서 ‘다해드림 센터장’이라는 발언까지 나온 만큼, 해당 공약들이 개인의 약속이 아니라 정부와 여당의 공식적인 약속으로 받아들여지고 있다”고 지적했다.
그러면서 “이러한 약속이 특정 후보에게만 적용된다면 공직선거법상 공무원의 중립 의무 및 선거 관여 금지 조항 위반 소지가 있다”며 “대통령이 선거 결과와 관계없이 해당 사업들을 추진하겠다는 명확한 입장을 밝혀야 한다”고 요구했다.
정 예비후보는 “대통령의 확실한 약속이 없다면 유권자들은 해당 공약의 실현 가능성 자체를 믿기 어렵다”고 덧붙였다.
