이번 전시는 4월 1일부터 5월 23일까지 인당뮤지엄 전관에서 열리며, 한국 판화의 역사와 현재를 아우르는 작가 12명의 작품 130여 점이 전시된다. 개막식은 4월 1일 오후 5시에 개최된다.
전시는 프랑스 그라블린미술관과의 협력을 통해 기획된 국제 교류 프로젝트로, 일부 작품은 오는 6월 28일부터 11월 8일까지 프랑스 현지에서 열리는 'K Prints, Korean Woodblocks' 전시로 이어질 예정이다.
전시는 ‘일상’, ‘역사’, ‘서정’, ‘도시’ 등 네 개의 주제로 구성돼 한국 판화의 흐름과 동시대적 감각을 입체적으로 조망한다. ‘일상’에서는 나무와 칼이라는 판화의 근원적 재료를 바탕으로 한 창작 세계를, ‘역사’에서는 시대의 기억과 사회적 흐름을 담은 작품을 선보인다. 이어 ‘서정’에서는 자연과 삶의 감성을 섬세하게 풀어낸 작품을, ‘도시’에서는 현대 도시의 풍경과 동시대 삶을 재해석한 작업을 만나볼 수 있다.
이번 전시에서는 전통 목판화부터 조각, 설치, 실험적 판화까지 다양한 장르가 소개되며, 판화 110여 점과 목조각, 목판 및 관련 자료 등 총 130여 점이 공개된다.
특히 대구 출신 작가들의 작품이 대거 포함돼 ‘대구 판화’의 흐름을 국제 무대에 소개하는 계기로 주목된다. 김우조의 1970년대 흑백 목판화는 시대적 현실을 반영한 대표작으로 평가받으며, 김서울 등 젊은 작가들의 작품도 함께 전시돼 지역 판화의 현재를 보여준다.
프랑스에서 활동 중인 재불 작가 정현의 작품도 포함돼 판화 매체의 확장 가능성을 제시한다. 김성수의 작품 '꽃과 새가 하는 말을 들을 수 있다면' 역시 자연과 인간의 생명력을 독창적으로 표현한 작업으로 관람객의 관심을 끌 전망이다.
인당뮤지엄 김정 관장은 “디지털 이미지가 넘쳐나는 시대에 판화가 지닌 아날로그적 가치와 예술적 본질을 재조명하고자 이번 전시를 기획했다”며 “한국 판화의 다양한 흐름을 통해 삶과 시대의 의미를 새롭게 발견하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
한편 인당뮤지엄은 2002년 개관 이후 지역민과 학생들을 위한 전시와 인문학 프로그램을 꾸준히 운영하며 지역 문화예술 거점으로 자리매김하고 있다.

The exhibition will be held throughout the entire Indang Museum from April 1 to May 23, featuring approximately 130 works by 12 artists encompassing the history and present of Korean printmaking. The opening ceremony will be held on April 1 at 5:00 PM.
As an international exchange project planned in collaboration with the Graveline Museum in France, some of the works are scheduled to be carried on to the 'K Prints, Korean Woodblocks' exhibition in France, which will run from June 28 to November 8. The exhibition is organized into four themes—"Daily Life," "History," "Lyricism," and "City"—offering a multi-dimensional perspective on the flow of Korean printmaking and its contemporary sensibilities. "Daily Life" showcases a creative world based on the fundamental materials of printmaking: wood and chisels. "History" presents works that capture the memories of the era and social trends. Following this, "Lyricism" features works that delicately express the emotions of nature and life, while "City" presents works that reinterpret the landscapes of modern cities and contemporary life.
This exhibition introduces a diverse range of genres, from traditional woodblock prints to sculpture, installation, and experimental printmaking. A total of approximately 130 items are on display, including around 110 prints, as well as wood carvings, woodblocks, and related materials.
In particular, the inclusion of a large number of works by artists from Daegu draws attention as an opportunity to introduce the trends of "Daegu printmaking" to the international stage. Kim Woo-jo’s black-and-white woodblock prints from the 1970s are regarded as representative works reflecting the realities of the times, while works by young artists such as Kim Seoul are also on display, showcasing the current state of regional printmaking.
Works by Jeong Hyeon, a Korean artist based in France, are also included, suggesting the potential for expanding the printmaking medium. Kim Seong-su’s work, "If I Could Hear What Flowers and Birds Say," is also expected to attract the attention of visitors for its unique expression of the vitality of nature and humanity.
Kim Jeong, Director of the Indang Museum, stated, "We planned this exhibition to shed new light on the analog value and artistic essence of printmaking in an era overflowing with digital images," adding, "We hope this serves as an opportunity to rediscover the meaning of life and the times through the diverse currents of Korean printmaking."
Meanwhile, since its opening in 2002, the Indang Museum has established itself as a hub for regional culture and arts by consistently operating exhibitions and humanities programs for local residents and students.
