발효액을 원하는 주민은 2ℓ 용량의 빈 페트병 등 개인 용기를 준비해 증평읍사무소 옆에 설치된 유용 미생물(EM) 복합기를 통해 필요한 만큼 받아갈 수 있다.
단, 매월 마지막 주차 금~일요일 EM 배양 기간에는 발효액 공급이 중단되기 때문에 방문 시 유의해야 한다.
또 EM 발효액은 식용이 아니므로 절대 마셔서는 안 되며, 피부 질환 치료나 미용 목적 등으로도 사용을 금해야 한다.
군 관계자는 “EM 발효액은 누구나 간편하게 사용할 수 있는 친환경 제품”이라며 “주민들의 일상에 널리 보급되어 지속 가능한 환경 보호와 친환경 생활 실천이 지역 사회에 정착될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
