<품꿈온마을배움터>는 기존 온마을배움터를 확장한 모델로, 학생이 참여하는 수준을 넘어 프로그램 기획과 운영의 주체로 참여하는 것이 특징이다.
그동안 교육청과 지자체가 마을 자원을 발굴해 프로그램을 운영했다면, 앞으로는 학생이 마을의 주체로서 배움터를 만들어가는 구조로 전환한다.
학생들은 마을의 이야기와 자원을 바탕으로 다양한 활동을 직접 설계하고 운영하게 된다. 마을의 삶을 소재로 연극을 기획하거나, 놀이와 학습이 결합된 돌봄 프로그램을 운영하는 등 창의적 활동이 가능하며, 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 마을 지도 제작 등 디지털 기반 프로젝트도 추진할 수 있다.
학교와 교육청, 지자체는 이러한 활동이 안정적으로 운영될 수 있도록 최소한의 지원과 협력을 제공하고, 학생이 주도하는 배움터의 조력자 역할을 수행한다.
이와 관련해 윤건영 교육감은 1일(수) 청주시 낭성면에 위치한 <단비>를 방문해 정책 방향을 공유하고 현장 운영 사례를 확인했다.
<단비>는 1990년 청주시 서원구 모충동 쌍샘마을에서 시작된 공동체가 도시 개발로 인해 2002년 낭성면으로 이전한 이후, 돌봄과 생태문화 활동을 중심으로 성장해 2021년 사회적협동조합 산촌교육마을로 발전한 지역 기반 교육공동체다.
이주 당시 9가구로 출발해 현재는 약 70가구 규모로 확대됐으며, 교육·돌봄·생태문화가 결합된 교육생태계를 형성하고 있다.
마을에서는 노작, 독서, 과학실험, 요리 등 다양한 체험형 프로그램이 운영되고 있으며, 이를 통해 타 지역에서도 학생과 학부모가 찾아오는 등 마을이 교육의 중심이 되는 가능성을 보여주고 있다.
윤건영 교육감은 단비 운영진과 차담을 나누고, 마을 카페와 서점, 도서관 등 교육 공간을 둘러보며 마을이 학생의 배움과 지역 정주로 이어지는 과정을 확인했다.
한편, 단비는 2025년 12월 김혜경 여사가 방문해 주민들을 격려한 바 있다.
충북교육청은 <품꿈온마을배움터>를 중심으로 마을과 학교가 함께하는 교육생태계를 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
