【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 교육활동 침해 사안에 대한 전문적인 법률지원을 강화하기 위해 <2026. 교육활동 보호 법률지원단>을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 교육활동 침해 사안이 복잡·다양해지면서 행정심판과 소송으로 확대되는 사례가 증가함에 따라, 교원이 사안 초기부터 전문적인 법률 지원을 받을 수 있도록 하기 위해 추진됐다.
법률지원단은 교육활동보호센터 소속 전담변호사와 권역별 외부 변호사로 구성되어, 교육활동 침해 사안에 대한 법률 상담과 자문을 체계적으로 지원한다.
특히 초기 단계부터 법률전문가가 개입해 분쟁 대응을 지원함으로써 교원이 교육활동에 전념할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 데 중점을 두고 있다.
지원 대상은 교육활동 침해 피해 교원 등으로, 전화, 공문, 소통메신저(교원119) 등을 통해 신청할 수 있다. 접수된 사안은 1차 상담을 거쳐 필요 시 법률지원단 변호사와 연계해 법률 자문, 문서 작성, 수사·조사 동행 등 맞춤형 지원이 이루어진다.
지원 내용은 ▲교육활동 침해 사안 처리 관련 법률 자문 ▲행정심판·소송 대응 자문 ▲아동학대 피소 관련 대응 지원 ▲민·형사상 분쟁 법률 자문 등으로, 사안의 중대성과 복잡성에 따라 외부 변호사를 즉시 연계해 전문성을 강화한다.
또한 교원 1인당 지원 규모를 일반 사안은 연간 100만 원, 중대한 교육활동 침해 사안은 최대 200만 원까지로 확대해 실질적인 법률 대응을 뒷받침한다.
윤건영 교육감은 “교육활동 침해에 대해 초기부터 전문적인 법률 지원을 제공하는 것이 무엇보다 중요하다.”라며, “법률지원단 운영을 통해 교원이 안심하고 교육에 전념할 수 있는 환경을 조성하고, 교육권과 학습권을 함께 보호해 나가겠다.”라고 말했다.
