[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시가 2일 장애인의 이동권과 지역사회참여 확대를 위해 도입한 미니 휠체어 버스 ‘가야나래’의 개통식을 갖고 시승식을 가졌다.
가야나래는 15인승 중형 승합차를 기반으로 개조한 특장 차량으로, 휠체어 이용자 4명이 동시에 탑승할 수 있으며 일반석 5석을 포함해 총 9명이 탑승 가능하다.
또 리프트와 안전 고정장치를 갖춰 기동성과 안전성을 모두 확보했으며 좁은 도심 도로와 생활권 내 이동에 최적화돼 장애인들의 문화·여가 활동을 적극 지원한다.
양한교 장애인단체연합회장은 “오늘은 장애인들의 오랜 숙원이었던 미니 휠체어 버스가 개통된 무척 기쁜 날”이라며 “어려운 재정 여건 속에서도 장애인들의 간절한 목소리에 귀 기울여 사업을 해결해 주신 김해시에 깊은 감사를 드린다”고 말했다.
박종주 시 복지국장은 “가야나래는 누구나 차별 없이 이동할 수 있는 도시로 나아가는 중요한 발판이 될 것”이라며 “단순한 이동수단 제공을 넘어 문화와 여가, 복지까지 이어지는 통합적인 이동지원 체계를 계속 넓혀 ‘따뜻한 행복도시 김해’를 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.
한편 가야나래는 수탁기관으로 선정된 김해시장애인단체연합회에서 운영하며, 지역 장애인들의 다양한 수요를 반영한 맞춤형 이동 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.
