보령시는 2일 대천5동 회의실에서 충남문화관광재단, 충남콘텐츠진흥원, 한국관광공사 대전충남지사, (재)섬비엔날레조직위원회 간 '제1회 섬비엔날레 성공 개최를 위한 4자 업무협약'을 체결했다.
2027년까지 개최를 1여 년 앞두고 마련된 이번 협약은 문화예술·관광·콘텐츠 분야의 연계사업을 좀 더 체계적으로 추진하자는 취지로 마련됐다.
조직위는 행사 종합기획과 총괄 조정을, 충남문화관광재단은 주민참여 예술교육과 지역예술단체 연계, 관광 협력사업을 담당하기로 했다.
아울러 충남콘텐츠진흥원은 홍보·아카이브 영상 제작과 문화콘텐츠 개발, 한국관광공사 대전충남지사는 관광상품 개발과 공동 홍보 마케팅, 관광 네트워크 연계 분야를 전폭적으로 지원한다.
고효열 사무총장은 "기관 전문성과 역량을 현장에 하나로 모으는 출발점"으로서 협약이 가지는 의미를 강조했다. 이어 2027년에 진행될 행사가 성공적으로 운영될 수 있도록 체계성 있게 기반을 다지고 지속 가능한 브랜드 문화행사로 확대해 나갈 것이라는 뜻을 전했다.
'섬'을 주제로 한 국내 첫 '섬비엔날레'는 내년 4월 3일부터 5월 30일까지 보령 원산도 및 고대도 일원을 무대로 개최되며, 섬의 자연과 생태 그리고 역사와 문화를 예술로 확장한 전시 및 프로그램들을 다채롭게 선보일 예정이다.
