【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청 소속 도내 기관들은 3일, 제81회 식목일을 맞아 나무심기와 체험형 프로그램을 운영하며 생태체험 환경 조성과 탄소중립 실천에 나섰다.
환경교육센터와우는 센터 내 화단과 옥상정원에서 개원 4주년을 기념한 식목행사를 실시했다. 직원 13명이 참여해 화살나무, 남천, 회양목, 라일락, 매화나무, 블루애로우 등 300여 주를 식재하며 방문객이 자연을 체감할 수 있는 생태체험 공간을 확충했다.
센터는 숲과 정원 환경을 지속적으로 확대해 체험 중심 환경교육 공간으로 발전시켜 나갈 계획이다.
같은 날 충청북도교육청 직속기관 국제교육원(원장 서강석)은 정원 일원에서 <청렴 실천 나무심기> 행사를 운영했다. 목백일홍, 매화 등 꽃나무를 식재하고 나무마다 청렴의 의미를 담은 표찰을 부착하며 일상 속 청렴 실천 의지를 다졌다. 이번 행사는 환경 보호와 더불어 청렴 문화를 확산하기 위한 취지로 마련됐다.
청주농업고등학교(교장 류영목)는 <심자! 탄소 지우개, 지키자! 푸른 지구>를 주제로 전교생 참여형 식목일 행사를 운영했다.
산림환경자원과와 조경과를 중심으로 기념 식수, 반려식물 나눔, 업사이클링 체험, 학교숲 미래 비전 아이디어 공모, 에코 챌린지 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 학생들이 기후위기와 탄소중립의 의미를 체험적으로 이해할 수 있도록 했다.
특히 신입생과 학교장이 함께하는 기념 식수를 통해 소속감과 책임감을 높이는 계기도 마련됐다.
한편, 충청북도교육청 직속기관 교육문화원(원장 서종덕)도 지난 31일(화), 전 직원이 참여한 가운데 하늘정원을 정비하고 꽃을 식재하는 <청렴이 꽃피는 하늘정원 가꾸기> 행사를 실시했다.
충북교육청은 식목일을 계기로 자연과 공존하는 교육환경 조성과 함께 탄소중립 실천과 가치 중심 교육이 학교 현장에서 이어질 수 있도록 다양한 체험·참여형 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
