국민의힘 도당은 3일 논평을 통해 “사법당국은 ‘허위사실’ 유포로 선거를 혼탁하게 하는 김철수 예비후보를 엄정하고 신속하게 수사하라”고 밝혔다.
앞서 속초시선거관리위원회는 김 예비후보를 공직선거법상 허위사실 공표 및 정보통신망법상 허위 사실 적시 명예훼손 혐의로 경찰에 수사를 의뢰했다. 김 예비후보는 최근 SNS 등을 통해 상대 후보에 대한 확인되지 않은 사실을 유포하며 정략적인 비방을 일삼은 혐의를 받고 있다.
