[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 하동군이 고향사랑기부금을 활용해 반려동물 복지와 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위한 지원사업 대폭 확대하며 ‘사람과 동물이 공존하는 매력 하동 만들기’에 나섰다.
군은 올해 실외사육견 및 길고양이 중성화 사업 규모를 크게 늘리고, 사회적 배려 계층을 위한 맞춤형 지원도 강화한다고 밝혔다.
실외사육견 중성화 사업은 기존 국·도비 7992만 원을 투입해 250마리를 지원할 계획이었으나, 고향사랑기부금 5000만 원을 추가 확보해 150마리를 더 지원할 수 있게 됐다. 이에 따라 총 지원 규모는 400마리로 확대된다.
특히, 이번에 확보한 고향사랑기부금은 ‘찾아가는 실외사육견 중성화 사업’에 중점 투입된다.
