【충북 브레이크뉴스】임창용 기자=충청북도교육청은 6일 도교육청 교육감실에서 스포츠 단체 제우스 FC(대표 곽범균)와 <아이의 힘! 책봄 아이사랑 책기부 기탁식>을 개최했다고 밝혔다.
<아이의 힘! 책봄> 사업은 지역 기업과 출향 인사의 기부를 통해 초·중·고 학생들에게 도서를 지원하는 독서문화 조성 사업으로, 2022년부터 운영되고 있다.
청주에 위치한 제우스 FC는 2019년 4월 출범한 종합격투기(MMA) 기반 스포츠 단체로, 세계적인 파이터를 꿈꾸는 선수들의 성장과 발굴을 목표로 설립됐다.
이날 제우스 FC가 기탁한 200만 원은 청주 강서초등학교에 전달돼 교육과정과 연계한 맞춤형 도서 구입에 활용될 예정이다.
이번 기탁은 스포츠 기반 지역 단체가 독서 나눔에 참여한 사례로, 체육과 독서가 결합된 교육적 가치 확산이라는 점에서 의미를 더했다.
곽범균 제우스 FC 대표는 “체육 활성화 사업인 ‘어디서나 운동장’과 독서교육 정책인 ‘언제나 책봄’이 시너지를 이루어 아이들이 몸 근육과 마음 근육을 균형 있게 키우는 계기가 되길 바란다.”라고 말했다.
윤건영 교육감은 “제우스 FC의 기탁은 한 사람의 가능성을 믿고 성장을 응원하는 뜻이 담긴 의미 있는 나눔”이라며 “학생들이 책을 통해 삶을 돌아보고 스스로 길을 찾을 수 있도록 교육청도 끝까지 지원하겠다.”라고 말했다.
