【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 증평군이 중동 지역 정세 불안에 따른 국제 유가 상승 우려 속에 친환경 교통수단인 자전거 이용 활성화에 나섰다.
군은 이달부터 12월까지 증평 자전거공원 내 자전거 교통안전교육장에서 체험형 자전거 교통안전 교육 프로그램을 운영한다고 밝혔다.
교육 대상은 증평군에 주민등록을 두고 거주하는 성인이다.
출퇴근용 자전거 이용자와 레저·스포츠형 이용자 등 다양한 이용 형태를 반영한 교육을 통해 생활 속 자전거 안전 문화를 확산한다는 계획이다.
교육은 자전거 이용 경험이 적은 주민들도 쉽게 참여할 수 있도록 이론과 체험을 결합한 방식으로 진행된다.
참가자는 자전거의 역사와 구조, 종류 등 기본적인 이해를 시작으로 자전거 운전자가 지켜야 할 교통법규와 안전수칙, 수신호 방법, 자전거 표지판 등을 배우게 된다.
또 자전거 이용이 건강과 환경에 미치는 긍정적인 효과를 소개하는 프로그램과 가상 체험 장비를 활용한 교육도 함께 진행된다.
실습 과정에서는 자전거 탑승 전 브레이크와 핸들, 안장, 타이어 공기압 등 점검 방법을 익히고 안전모와 보호장구 착용 요령을 배운 뒤 자전거 공원에서 실제 주행 훈련을 실시한다.
교육은 평일 오후 1시부터 4시 사이 진행되며, 회당 15명 이내로 운영된다.
